Um....The Astros Choked EVERYTIME. They have NEVER showed heart as franchise. You are chokers until you are not. That's the way it works. Im old enough to remember the Astros late 70s, early 80s. Die-hard fans please. You see them lose for 37-38 years (that i remember).......u root for them...but expect the same. It is UP to THE ASTROS to prove me/us wrong.
BTW...blindly rooting for a team......is the complaint people hear about the Texans. People complain and complain about Rick Smith, etc.....yet the Texans have NEVER choked. They never been in the position to choke (being the better team and lose in the playoffs). The Oilers of the late 80s/early 90s were choke artist. So.....i don't blindly root for my teams anymore. They need to prove something first before i go all in again. I'm glad I was wrong.
Fans don't even make posts like this. There is nothing positive about it, and to say your team is gonna choke sounds like the words of someone who never believes good things can happen here. If we lose against the Dodgers, it won't be because we choked. It just might be because they have about 100 million more in payroll and have recruited some of the highest paid and best players they could. I would love nothing more than to see our young guys go in there and do what they have done so well all year long. This would be the sweetest Championship in Houston History!!!! The time has come for our sluggers to get back into their groove, and light up the scoreboards against these Dodgers.
The current Astros have nothing to do with the previous 56 years and the mental damage they have caused a lot of their fans. I was at the game five loss at home against the Phillies in 1980. I know pain, but once Our Lord and Savior, Hakeem Olajuwon, delivered us into championship paradise, I got over the reflexive fatalism. Life is too short to be miserable. Soak up the good times and forget the pain.
OP and kneejerkers like him talks like he's a three time liver transplantee in a room full of alcoholics. Everyone in/from Houston is thirsty, and there's only one cure for that. The entitlement and victimhood should earn him a movie or three on lifetime channel. Maybe that'll get him to STFU.
Can the OP just go ahead and make a thread about how we lose to the Dodgers? I think he's the anti-jinx...
