"Choke" ain't the right word. Did the Indians choke against the Yankees in the first round? Not really. They simply got beat. Cleveland was very fortunate to escape Game 2 with a win and go up 2-0. Once the Yankees got over the heartbreak of that loss, they realized they could play with that team and got right back into that series before closing the Indians out in Game 5. And keep in mind, Cleveland was BETTER than the Astros recordwise and was within one win of a World Series victory a year ago. As for the ALCS, I am very concerned about the anemic offense. And it predates this series as the Astros' offensive woes go back to Game 3 vs Boston. Hell, they even had issues in Game 2 of that series despite winning 8-2. They left a ton of runners on base in that one. That being said, you're not gonna win every game with offense, especially at this stage of the postseason. The Dodgers and Cubs ain't exactly lighting up the scoreboard over in the NLCS. The good news is the Astros have shown they have what it takes in terms of pitching and defense to pull out tight, low-scoring games. So they don't need to put up 7 or 8 runs to beat the Yankees. But they will need to score more than 1 or 2 if they hope to steal a game in New York. If you're looking for a good omen, the Astros won their first 2 games in the ALDS at home by identical scores before losing by 7 in Game 3 on the road. In the ALCS, the Astros won their first 2 games at home by identical scores before losing by 7 in Game 3 on the road.
You arent an astros fan at all. You are HOPING that the yankees win out and the astros dont win another game? Your a bish dude Line em up @DonKnock , this is the biggest chicken little that ive ever seen on this bbs
Honestly @vonbock deserves a ban. He is saying that he hopes we lose and the yankees win out now. You cant be an astros fan and root for them to lose...
Dont leave @Tha_Dude . We need these types of “keeping it in perspective” posts to the chicken littles on the board lol
Yeah, they choked. They have lost 5 straight games that could have eliminated their opponent. That's choking.
Screw the reverse jinx thread cop out. I dont live in haiti or a 3rd world country so i dont believe in jinxes and curses and voodoo wizardry. This is just a flat out bish made thread. Plain and simple lol
I don't think the Indians choked this year. Last year vs the Cubs, maybe. But Cleveland should've lost Game 2 and were lucky to get the win. Then they lost a very close Game 3, were dominated in Game 4, and then lost a competitive Game 5. And 2 of those 3 were at Yankee Stadium. You could call it an upset, but I think choke is too strong a word.
I just don't know what the better ways are? Is it better to lose a 2-1 heartbreaker? Lose in extra innings? Have to run through your elite bullpen guys just to lose? It seems if you're going to lose, getting blown out and saving the key members of your bullpen is one of the better ways to do it. Plus, we got a chance to learn more about McHugh.
Good point regarding the bullpen. Flip side, the opponent doesn't use their elite guys either. I'd rather not get blown out. Better to be the blower
I didn't think we would sweep. Yankees blew their load last night. Astros win tonight. And once they win the series, please don't post here Mr. Scarface. I'm the only Scarface allowed bruh.
It is frustrating that we're squeaking out wins but when we lose, it's big and bad. Similar to recent playoff losses by the Rockets and Texans (KC).
A win is a win, and a loss is a loss. Scores don't carry over so if a team spends themselves trying to run up the score on us, that's to our benefit lol.
