No the world can actually be mad at the Chinese government. They made concerted efforts to block any information or news about the virus late last year within their own country, including messages sent out by the original ER doctor that found the new viral strain. They downplayed this strain much like how they downplayed SARS almost two decades ago. You're right that virus can occur anywhere in the world, that's something uncontrollable for the most part. However, the act of downplaying and keeping it under wraps is a controlled act...an incredible act of incompetence and negligence especially considering that country has gone through these types of illnesses before.

 

The days of China can be sanctioned like that have long gone. I encourage OP and the ones that liked this comment to go out more. Not saying China should not be more responsible to the rest of the world, but stopping buying Chinese products is not a solution to this.

Well ... many governments were slow reacting to the outbreak, not just China ... the same could be said about Italy, Japanese, US governments too. I was right in the middle of China in January. This thing is more complicated than policy failure or systematic hiding of the situation. This is a challenge to humanity at large. All of that said, China should sit back reflect on what could have been prevented and improved.

 

No country is perfect. Please read up on history and dig deep into finding the truth.

Is not the meat they are eating it’s how and where they keep the animals. The wet markets have live exotic and wild animals and they keep them in cages close to other animals. And worst of all they stack them on top of each other so their feces and everything gets pass around other animals. Then also adding that they gutted the animals and prepare them in the spot doesn’t help.
It’s more that than eating an animal that’s not common for us to eat.

also China has contain the virus better than other countries. They did took too long too contain it if they had tried it a week or two before it would have decrease it by around 56%.

 

There other groups that also have data on this. And there is no point in covering their numbers. That’s the problem they had trying to cover it as not a big deal. If they had acted a bit sooner it would have help a ton. But this is a global crisis and China are treating it like if they are going to war against the virus.

Animal cruelty in china is beyond imagination. The squalor and torturous conditions they keep the animals in was going to spill over. THis is nothing new and has been a point for decades now. They don't need to eat ****ing armadillos and other creatures that are known to be carriers of leprosy, or skin cats alive. The idea that we should accept wrong and cruel conditions because its another culture is stupid considering that their practices have far reaching implications for the rest of the world. Just consider for a second that a tweet (their own people can't see by someone in another country) was worth more of an outcry than this initially.
