Cassell will be Traded for cash and future 2nd rounder

I think Sam-I-Am will return to the Celtics as an assistant coach, a job for which he's eminently qualified. In the meantime the Celtics are up to some other trade or signing....

Indeed, strange because Cassell mentioned he wanted to become an assisstant coach for the Celtics after this year. Some1 however mentioned since Celtics cannot sign him until after 1 March, the date you have to be with a team in order to be eligible to play in the playoff, this is probably not a sign, waive and re-sign deal.

 

The pick will never go to the Celts I heard? Restrictions make it unlikely? So basically, Celts save LT, Kings make a little $$, and Cassell will go back as a coach (probably) since that's all he was doing anyway

Actually whoever said that has it backwards. The player must be released out of his contract before March 1 in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs. Remember Barry last year, he got released right away but it wasn't after March 1st he signed.
