I don't know, I just think after what happened in New York with Melo, he could've shown more in Okc, I know people love to blame westbrook but Paul George did just re-up with them.

People get married and divorce multiple times. It’s part of being human. Everyone said Harden/CP3 wouldn’t work out. They’re the deadliest 1-2 in the NBA with point guard skills.

 

And you have to transfer in Atlanta before going anywhere so this makes sense

And PG wasn’t held back in OKC he actually got the ball. That has nothing to do with Melo. He also got 140M.

 

Worked out for Sheed, he got a ring after stopping by the Hawks for a bit.

So missing shots=not showing he wants to win.

Why won't he get the ball? Is Paul not a facilitator? Is Harden not a better facilitator than Westbrook ever was? Does MDA have an actual system in comparison to Billy Donovan's offense?

Agree he has to be efficient but thats not the baseline for wanting to win. You can miss shots and still want to win. Again a lot of psychology experts around these days.

 

When the trade could be done?

 

This week, buy out soon after then 48 hours to clear waivers. So he won't be a Rocker till next week the earliest.

 

He will get scraps. CP3 and Harden can facilitate, but Carmelo needs to be very prepared to shoot 4-6 shots on occasion.

CP3/Harden/Clint will take the bulk of the shots with the starters.

And then you have Gordon and Green coming off the bench gunning.

It's not the system, it's the reality that there is only 1 basketball and we have superior scoring options.

 

Totally agreed. Rockets need more worker-type player instead of Melo

 

Most of his shots will come with him and CP3 leading the 2nd unit most likely. He'll get way more than 4-6 shots, thats counterintuitive to utilizing his skillset.

Obviously to start the game and end the game the ball will run through Harden/CP3 maybe him on occasion if the match up calls for it and he'll turn into a sniper waiting on his shot.

We post this video a lot but just check the difference in the two sessions.

1st pick up session- check the shots Melo takes with Harden/Paul on his team. No wing isolations, all catch and shoot mixed in with some post ups and he even cut back door for an easy lay up.

2nd pick up session- Lots of wing isos, obviously a highlight video so he made the shots but those aren't the shots you want him settling for. Thats what the lack of a true facilitator and someone he trusts with the ball pushes him to do which is go get it on my own.

Check that last play the pick n roll with Ibaka, Ibaka slips, Melo with a beautiful bounce pass, Ibaka kick to Paul, Paul dribble drive with Melo/Harden weakside and the defense is dead. Paul finds a wide open Melo for an easy 3.

This all just blends too well together to not work on the offensive end, this is what Melo was preparing for last summer honestly.
