Capella will be good player for years to come, because they man plays a Garnett style of defense. He will add a shot later in his career, so don't be afraid of giving him his money ...you can't compare him to Anderson. 82 games is a long season without easy buckets in the paint ...

we have to lock this kid down, trust me, we don't want to waist the prime opportunity with Harden and CP3 on board with so so supporting cast, capela is arguably the most important supporting cast in our lineup, we already lost luc and ariza, can't lose capela, remember that 7 man rotation in playoffs last year, we already lost 1 member, can't lose another

Belief is a good thing, signatures on a dotted line are a great thing.

I can't believe Capela's agents are this hardheaded. It's not 2016 bros; you're not going to get Capela Stephen Adams' money.

Agreed, bad timing for him but there will only be one 2016 (let's all hope) although the NBA is notorious for bad money years this one (2016) takes the cake.

Honestly 2019-2020 may be as bad or potentially worse then 2016 IMO. But regardless I hope Capela and Houston can get a deal made soon. A QO would not be good for both parties (more for Houston but Capela is taking on a risk as well...).

His agents are Jason Ranne, Darren Matsubara. Their best client is Steven Adams. They are trying whatever they can to get a bigger paycheck.

Unfortunately they are limited to the current market unless they fully intend to let their client take the QO thereby leaving millions on the table not only for Capela but also their own cuts.

    Nothing's ever promised tomorrow today

Are we over the aprons yet? Maybe there is a deal already, but they ask Capela to wait so Morey have bigger MLE to spend.

We’re still under the apron but having Capela wait wouldn’t make a difference if your suggesting morey use the full MLE. That hard caps us at $129m so we couldn’t sign Capela without moving Ryno into cap space.

Wouldn’t be worth the expense of moving Ryno + missing out on using him to trade for another contributor just to get the full MLE. I don’t even think there’s anyone left on the market that’s worth the full MLE.

He doesn't seem to be getting a lot of interest around the league. That should drive his price down to more realistic levels. I think he will resign with the Rockets.

CLE matches full MLE money for Hood faster than we could write up the offer sheet.

You have to ask other NBA teams this question. Capela just not worth that money at all.

Ryan Anderson's contract is even worse than Kent Bazemore's. SMFH.

IMO Capela has the most to lose if he doesn’t sign this season with us.
The market for bigs is dry and they have to fit with the team.
Is like if Marc basil played here we wouldn’t have the same efficiency because he can’t run or dunk like Capela. But Capela couldn’t play with Memphis or Celtics pretty much any other team except the warriors. And they can offer him 20m.
No team can offer him that.
Look at looney and McGee they played well under that system because of the spacing and the passing. Capela wouldn’t know what to do if he had a Marc Gasol role. Whenever he gets the ball and tries to create his shot he tends to turn it over or takes a terrible shot.

He is asking way too much even if Ryan or other bigs have gotten that kind of money that was another season when teams were overpaying players.
Capela can’t even play 30+ mins
Doesn’t dunk all those lobs or when he had it near the rim.
    Loses his man on rebounds
Tends to try to block shot every shot even if it’s late and far. That’s why most of the time the other team gets the rebounds.
He loves switching even when it’s not needed. And creates mismatches inside or they blow by him or they score on him.

He needs to improve on those things. He is still young so that’s why 85m or so it’s a pretty good deal. He should have taken it. Then keep improving with Harden and Chris. He will get pay again and this time max money.
But if he gets greedy or cocky he might lose millions just like Dmo, Noel or Thomas did.

He will lose money if he doesn’t take this deal. Either he will sign the QO lose money this season and next season who knows what he will get. Let’s say he get 20m for 4yrs. If he doesn’t fit under the new system he will be traded and will be shipped around the league. Teams will see he wasn’t what they saw on Houston, just kinda like Asik. Didn’t he thrive under Harden then he never was the same. Even before he came he wasn’t that great prob because he didn’t get much playing time. But this could happen to Capela as well.

I’m going down the list of NBA teams and checking which teams he could go and do the same. Most teams that he could fit would be on their second unit or for teams that have no chance at playoffs. Maybe LAL but Lebron would want a super star.

And next year if he signs somewhere else I’m sure we will get DJ. I see no other reason why he signed a 1 year deal. To me it felt like he felt this would happened with Clint and he is hoping for him to be FA next year and Dj gets to play with CP3 again.

Sorry I went longer than expected but I can’t belive he hasn’t taken this deal yet.
