David Stern blocked the CP3 trade to the Lakers to “supposedly” keep the competitive balance of the league. Why wouldn’t Adam Silver block this acquisition, or at least make the Warriors pay face value for Cousins which would put them in luxury tax hell.
Of course, I'd like it blocked with that "basketball reasons" when Paul to the Lakers was blocked by Stern.
The Pelicans were owned by the NBA at the time. That was the only reason Stern was able to do that. If the NBA were to step in and block a legal trade/signing now, where would you draw the line in them doing it again to any other team down the road?
Why do people still not know the difference between trades involving a player under contract for a league owned team versus a free agent.
