Statistically he is okay in the finishing spot, but no he isn't great at it..... he is mostly a corner 3 point shooter that is better with open 3's and is a very physical defender that can switch. Early in his career when they let him emphasize defense he was a genuine top tier defender. My understanding is this year he did not put forth the effort and got upset.
The problem is these guys still want to be used in the way THEY believe they can be successful, and would rather go to a team that is running a system they are comfortable with. MKG probably looks at a team like us, and immediately thinks, "They want me to stand in the corner and shoot 3's? Nah, I'm good."
I really wouldn’t be upset with mkg, but how is bolden not the better pickup? If harkless doesn’t get bought out (any news on that?) then I would be fine with mkg because it would keep him away from Dallas and be a guy to throw at LeBron Kawhi and pg, but I really want bolden, too
That is the case with some players. That is why no one grabbed Bolden and his non guaranteed contract. He wants to play his way only. As for MKG I don't know if that is the case...... it is possible but for the most part I have heard he will listen to his coaches, he just doesn't have the skill level to do what is expected of a 2 or 3. Also, I do have a little concern with MKG when it comes to switching. The Rockets cannot have players that are indecisive on switches. We still have Westbrook learning (although getting better) and Covington is very good at switching but is still getting used to how the Rockets do it....... the Jazz 3 to win the game was in part on Covington... it takes time.
Bolden does everything that we want our forwards to do. We do not have to adjust his game at all. Bolden does not want to play traditional 5, Houstonnis perfect for him.
MKG’s agent is Leon Rose. After what happened with Melo and CP3, I can’t see how he ends up with the Rockets.
They loved loved loved him last season. 6ers have too many bigs, and they play their bigs differently then how Rockets would. Bolden fits with Rockets to a T.
