I will admit to this. Last yr my wife and I went to Maui and I upgraded for a convertible Mustang and I was one of the above described A-Holes to the car. They gave me the car with 11 miles on the odometer. I returned it with about 200+. But those 200 miles I was brutal to the car in terms of letting the RPMs redline often. I'm sure thats soft compared to what others do to it. I would highly recommend staying away especially since this a sports car not an ordinary sedan or something similar.
Why bother getting a Mustang if it is neutered? Seriously the engine is where the value in the car is. If you want a Mustang then get one that packs a punch.
Had a mustang convertible in Maui also and was "peeling" out whenever I left a place that was gravel/dirt. And if you read reviews for rental cars in Maui its like 80% "theres a bunch of sand/dirt still in the car when I got my rental". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Even if the OP doesn't pay much attention to that, other people will think this and affect the true market price of an Ecoboost.
When I clicked on the Carvana link, it says Purchase Pending. I wonder if OP went ahead and pulled the trigger?

The ecoboost is fine. It just doesn't have the sound character of the v8 so that would be a sore lacking spot. However I don't like convertibles for a platform that was engineered to be a hard top coupe. They have to add additional weight to keep some of the rigidity of the chassis in the convertible and it still won't match the rigidity of the hard top. More weight and less rigid. Traits I don't like in my sports car. Also, Mustangs just don't look good in convertible form factor.
