...and came across this deal: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?whse=BC&topnav=&prodid=11328112 It looks like a great deal to me but I admittedly know very little about what I need to look for when buying an LCD. Can anyone help me out and let me know if this is a good deal or if these tv's are even worth a damn?
lil pun just bought a sharp tv. he should give you his run down. Sharp has been in the LCD business for along time.
I've had my Sharp for a little over a week and am very impressed. Mine is 42'' though and I was looking at the 52'' model and am glad I went smaller because 52'' would have been too much for my living room, 42'' is just right. They are coming to install the HD equipment tomorrow but I have an HD source through my PS3 and it is great too. The DVDs and Blu-rays look great as do the games. I started a thread about this subject and you can get some great tips there. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=146853
At $1800, that's a pretty good deal. This means the smaller TV is about 500 to 800, so the larger one is 1200 or less. That's a good deal. Almost everyone has the larger TV for more than that. I say pull the trigger while you can. Nice find, sir.
I saw their 2-fer deals and was tempted to take the 1080p plunge, but I decided not to. Not many reviews for it on AVS Forum, but some posters have said they got the 52" for a cheaper price than the bundle within the last few weeks. Personally, I think if you're not in it for "top of the line" LCD's this is a pretty good deal (and assuming you need both tv's).
Tell that to the manufacturers cutting prices and stores operating on lower margin... and the credit card debt.
