.....and so is Hill. But that's quickness by the way, not speed.

Hill is atleast as quick as Landry and has a better timed speed than Landry too.

I'm surprised you are high on Greene. I was really happy when we drafted Nicolas Batum. IMO, he was the better prospect and now a better player then Greene.
Its hard to believe that we had all three of these guys at one point or another.
I think Bud and Greene will turn out to be fine role players, but what will stop them from becoming starters and impact players is their lack of D. But Batum on the other hand has unlimited potential because he's athletic and is not afraid to go inside and attack the rim and he shoot the ball well. What makes him stand out more then Greene and Bud, he's a good defender with long arms and has what it takes to be an elite defender. The only thing is stopping him has been injuries and being on a stacked team.

That was a great post by Old Man Rock. Props.

Morrison was drafted in 06. One mistake, and we all know how it turned out. Alexander, in 08, and let me give you his stat line:

    0.5ppg, 0.6rpg, and 0.2apg.

Well, these athletic white guys must all suck right? Wrong.

I put it in parenthesis because I didn't feel like arguing about it. Don't give it much thought, but Budinger averaged 18ppg, dunked like many dream about, shot 40% from three, 45% FG, and showed significant improvement every season while he was in AZ. Rookies with his potential, and statistics are top 10 picks.

    Out of Morey's transactions:

Brooks - thought it was good at the time, it turned out great. A+
    Landry - Same as above.
Scola trade - didn't want to have high hopes at the time, but he turned out excellent.
Lowry trade - didn't like it, now I do.
Green - hated it, Rockets lose their 2nd round pick this season.
Greene - didn't really think much of him, still don't.
    Dorsey - didn't like it, still don't.
Artest trade - love it to this day.
Taylor - thought he would contribute much more this season, I still like him.
Bud - liked it a lot, now love it.
Martin - loved it, hated the fact that Carl was traded.
    NY picks - like it.

Overall, Morey is a great GM. However, he should not get all of the credit for some of the great draft pickups throughout the years rather the Rockets organization.

Very interesting and I don't doubt it's true, but I still give Morey the lion's share of the credit on all those picks. Whether he identified them or not, he's the GM and he signed off on them. I don't need the GM to be our top talent scout, I only need him to take advice from his team and make the right calls. He has done that beyond my wildest fantasies.

Morey probably would've picked Llull over Beaubois. I recall a quote from Morey that he thought Llull was the second best international player behind Rubio.

I think one of morey's greatest assets is to gather info and make a decision. The gm gets the credit, but the pro scouts and college scouts are very important. They watch way more tape of players than the gm. West drafted gooden on the info he got from the scouts because he came in late. The scout gave the nod despite amare having more physical tools and dominating gooden in most workouts. Imagine amare with gasol in 04 along with everything else they had.

Morey has done a really good job. I wouldnt say great because the team hasnt gone deep in the playoffs. To me, i still think his legacy is tied to going deep and winning titles as is with every other gm.

And we have to give Morey credit for knowing Brandon Roy would be a truly special player, not just a highlight-reel guy like Rudy Gay. Morey wanted Roy in the worst possible way -- and woulda had him, too, if it weren't for that meddling Kevin Prickard!

If you think gay is a highlight reel guy, go buy league pass next season and watch him play. If morey thought he was that special, why not get into position to get roy. Moves like that can be made predraftt. Much like a franchise qb, get into position and take the guy.

    Sounds easy in theory :p

If that is the case, Rockets could have gotten Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, and god knows how many other "special players" just by "getting into position", LOL!
