AJ McCarron outplayed him in the same offense and he is not an NFL caliber QB. Blake Sims has no future in the league imo

AJ McCarron played in a totally different offense.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he got drafted at all. Honestly he probably won't even make a practice squad.

Yeah, Sims won't even crack and NFL roster, let alone get drafted.

Petty is around a 3rd or 4th round pick as far as talent/experience go. And I would be highly skeptical of him anyway, given who has played in that system and how they have made the NFL jump. (ie, RG3, Keenum, Manziel) It just doesn't develop QBs for the NFL game at all.

If he was there at 3/16? I'd think about it, but not before that. There are other glaring needs on this team to take on someone that probably wouldn't hit the field his 1st year.

This was their offensive philosophy when not running the ball...

    1. Find Cooper
    2. Throw it in his general direction
    3. Profit

He's not going to be on an NFL roster.

Are you a NFL scout? C'mon son. Wait until the process plays out.

The QB situation is depressing. Going into 2015 the Texans don't have an answer at the most important position on the team...again. It would not surprise me in the least to see Fitz start again this year and that really sucks especially since they could be in division with both Luck and Mallott. My fear is that when all is said and done, not getting a QB when they had the 1st pick in the draft will come to haunt this franchise for years to come.

There wasn't a QB worth picking, are you really arguing that the Texans would be better off right now with Blake F'n Bortles at QB?

Ain't no way we're going into the season with Fitz/Mallett/Savage/Keenum. Might as well not show up next season. Sneaking into the playoffs is not enough.

With that list Mallett's value may be on the rise.

I wish Mariota was going to the Titans...he's such a system QB that it hurts my eyes when I watch him play.

Screen, option, option, screen, wide open receiver, option, screen, screen, wide open receiver.

It's like nothing he does requires an NFL quality arm. Kids got great athleticism, but that running ability won't work in the NFL.

I'm not sure he has a better upside than Mallett, and I'm not a Mallett fan.

Mallett is legit. The quick decision making was apparent when he lead all qb that week with quickest release. I'd be shocked if Mallett wasnt the starter heading into training camp.

I liked Mallet a lot; I think he can be a very good QB. But I wouldn't mind having him compete with a guy like Hudley.

I have a feeling someone will reach for him in the 1st, even if he grades out at a 2-4th rounder. EJ Manuel esque move. Doubt its the Texans though, given the other holes we have.

With the way this team drafts..and the number of 2nd and 3rd round picks they've effed up...take Petty. Might as well. If you hit, you hit on the most important position on the field. You MIGHT get lucky. You sure aren't hitting on anything else in those rounds.

I doubt it. The only teams in the bottom half of the first round that really need a QB are the Texans and Bills. I don't think the Texans would take him there and considering that the Bills just reached (and missed) on a QB in a similar position 2 years ago, I don't think they're going to bite either.
