Assuming we run the same 3 guard rotation, who do you think Mchale should come off the bench with as the 3rd guard in rotation?? Clippers have an attacking guard in CP3 and shooters that surround him. It can be a tied game vs the clippers and their shooters can get going & knock down a few threes from cp3 assist and then a Lob to blake or jordan and before you know it they are on a run and you are down 10-12.

Brooks- with him you are getting a playmaker, mid-range game & 3 point shooter. But take a risk with him guarding CP3 and getting caught up having to contain crawford, redick, who can shoot the 3 over a smaller brooks on the perimeter.

Brewer- you get a lack of playmaking, lack of 3 point shooting, & mid-range game. But you get a perimeter defense specialist and someone who can be thrown at CP3 to give harden or lin a rest on different possessions since one will always be in the game handling the offense play making load

Big game tonight I’m excited, go rockets!

You answered your question: you don't worry much about guarding CP3, you defend everyone else tight because he'll find them. If CP3 goes for 52pts and 3 assts, we win.

That`s not how it works. If you have a bad defender on CP3 other guys will have to help a lot and that leads to easy assists. You don`t necessarily double him, but you want a good defender on him the whole time - maybe give him the outside shot and limit his drives.

CP3 would have a field day against Brooks. He will drive by him all the time leading to either Dwight or Asik leaving Jordan or Griffin open for an easy lob.

The problem is Brewer is no point guard and I don`t know if he is quick enough to guard CP3. Maybe Parsons will give it a go against him some... but you definetly want to limit Brooks minutes. Maybe play Lin 40 minutes if he has the stamina to do it. Beverly would really help in this game. If he and Lin could take turns against CP3 and both stay fresh the whole game we might`Ve had a good shot at slowing him down.

Didn't see CP3 have much luck with the Lakers in his first game.

We need Brewer off the bench to stop Jamal Crawford from going Kobe on us.

Your best chance of slowing him down is to make him work on defense. We got 2 offensive minded pt guards that can give him fits and the taller one is very good in playing defense himself.

Another possibility is to get him in foul trouble by posting up Jlin against him.

Brooks is just a bad match up against the Clippers, especially if his offense is MIA. Brewer is the best perimeter defender on team right now and can dribble up court and hand off the ball to either Harden or Lin just as easily as an ice cold Brooks.
