We have an off day on Monday. Trust me Coach Garner will ride him hard this weekend if need be. I am just hoping that the game will be out of reach tomorrow night and then Clemens gets his 18th.

    Go Sweep!!!

between Chavez and Roger trying to work out their new battery, and the constant attention Podsednick (or any other speedy Brewer) requires... this game is going to take forever.

Does anyone else get a buzz just from watching Carlos Beltran run out infield hits?

Man... that's one of the best games Clemens has pitched for us this year... almost a mirror image of his first game.

    7 innings pitched... 2 hits, 0 runs, 9 K's.

We CANNOT waste this performance... lets get some runs!

He's thrown 109 pitches and it looks like they're keeping him in for the 8th. I think this is the right move. You can't let Harville or somebody blow this. This is Roger's game to lose.

That was AWESOME! (K to end the 8th inning)

That's also the most emotion I've seen from roger all year... he REALLY wants this big-time, and for a guy with all his career accomplishments, I'm in complete awe.

EDIT: Lights Out is in to pitch the 9th...

This is where Lidge blows it and we question why we let Clemens leave the ballgame when he was on a roll.

    Edit: Maybe...maybe no. :D

Holy sh*t...Lidge is throwing lightning strikes out there.

Lidge's #s this year are sick.

140 Ks in 86 IP ...............

doesn't Wagner hold the K per 9ip record?? Lidge has to be pushing that record.

You would think so... especially since Lidge has more than one pitch. ;)

(of course, he might not... since he can pitch more than one inning as well... oops, I did it again. :D )

Lidge is currently at around 14.65.

    Wagner had 14.9ish in 1999.

Double header tommorrow will be HUGE. The Marlins were my favorite to win this thing, but with them losing so much ground, Beckett struggling, and Burnett likely done, we're obviously hoping for 2 Cubs losses.

ESPN has Prior facing Pavano in the 1st one, which is clear advantage Fish with Prior's struggles.
They have Clement vs. Bump? (5.27 ERA) in GM 2. I hope that's wrong. This is their freakin season here. Pitch Willis or someone on short rest - you can't afford to throw some scrub out there.
