Say what you will... the offense has been FAR more encouraging under Garner/Gaetti... than it was the last couple of months before that.

    Last 7 games: 4, 5, 6, 5, 5, 10, 6 (and counting) runs...

Of course, its in the hands of our bullpen now... and its only gonna be the 8th inning.

This top of the 8th is now the KEY POINT in this game...

That .115 batting average against lefties Bagwell has is horrendous. Hopefully Lidge will get out of this.

Can't really blame it on the bats tonight. 6 runs should be enough to win a major league ball game but with the pitching staff you are forced to score 10 runs just to feel safe with a lead.

I agree. Too bad they waited until now to make a change at the top. This should have happened in June. Too little, too late. It is OVER - they're knocking at heaven's door...

"Tonight is the biggest game of the season." -- Jeff Bagwell.

In my eyes, the Astros have to find a way to win 5 out of the next 6 to remain in the WC race. (which is entirely do-able, considering they should be able to win 1 out of these next two, and face that awful Arizona team, without Randy pitching, for four games.)

Anything less, and you WILL see moves come the end of July.

You know, even though we lost last night, I felt pretty good that there was some fire in the players and coaches when they came back. Jimy would've just probably sit on his hands the whole time.
