1-0 since acquiring Darren Oliver. Can the streak continue?

    7-23 -- Chris Capuano (4-5, 3.47) vs. Roger Clemens (11-3, 2.62) 7:05 on FSSW

    7-24 -- Ben Hendrickson (0-2, 11.25) vs. Tim Redding (3-6, 6.03) 6:05 No TV

    7-25 -- Doug Davis (9-8, 3.76) vs. Pete Munro (1-2, 4.46) 1:05 on FSSW

I'll be at Sunday's game to see a great pitching matchup!

    seriously.
This team plays 13 of their next 16 at home, and their opponents aren't exactly all WS contenders either.
    Brewers
    Dbacks
    Expos
    Reds

We could, conceivably turn this around....

UGH, to be an Astros fan this year, always hoping....

    Interesting tidbit I just saw....

The Astros have scored 5 runs or more in 5 straight games.

This is the FIRST time this year that has happened.

    Turnaround?

I'm still not sold on this being the "turn around." Luckily, we avoid Ben Sheets this weekend. 2 out of 3 would be nice, and then we can get healthy (and back above .500) on the DBacks and Expos.

WLW...I'm glad to see Redding back in the rotation, but the Brewers seem to kill him.

I am right there with you.

Our RPI is third in the NL (7th overall) behind the Cardinals and Cubs due in large part to having the toughest schedule to date (tied with Cubs).

My prediction is they make a strong comeback only to fall to the Cubs.

Man its hard to get excited for those final 2 games of the series with Redding and Munro pitching. Our offense may have to score 8 runs just to have a chance to win the game. WLW........

I think they're going to do well in this stretch. A "False Hope" is a good way of describing this. The real test comes in August once we face some real competition; and with no real setup man it'll be tough

We also miss Randy Johnson which will be good. Too bad we have to face the Expos ace John Patterson ;)

Even though we lost the game, I think Ensbergs homer against LA may have been a small turning point.

We continue making our run ... I say that with full confidence because we're undefeated since "The Morning Crew" played "All Systems Go!!" on Wednesday morning!!!

for them to have a chance they'll need to win no less than 12 of those next 16 games.

Cheap-ass crawford boxes. It probably is true that the opponent takes far more advantage of the "cheap" variety HR's.

On the Astros, only Everett has really made use of the short porch over the last two years.

Also, maybe a little bit of Ausmus (not this year) and Ensberg (against LA).

Every other Stro, when they actually hit a HR, they HIT a HR.

They needed to win 7 out of 9, starting with the Arizona series, to stay in this race.

Since they swept Arizona, they now need to win 5 out of the next 7.

Since they're probably going to lose tonight, they need to now win 5 out of the next 6.

If they don't acheive that, THEN, season is truly over...
