We need a sweep, but we haven't really played well to this point or even for that matter against the Brew Crew... WLWW Go Stros!!!
I'm going to the game tonight. First time ever to Minute Maid Park. I can't wait to see Clemens on the mound. We need to take at least three of four this series. WWLW
Why did Morgan alter his chance mid AB? I had the sound on the game turned down so if they mentioned it i couldnt hear..
God and we couldn't use Lane yesterday with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with Ausmus coming up.... Great HR Lane
Jason Lane just made Richard Justice look like a genius... expect that guy (justice) to gloat non-stop about this on 610 tommorow morning, PTI in the afternoon, and in the chronicle in every single article he writes from here-on-out when he's explaining why he's the best baseball mind south of the mason-dixon line.
Well, to be fair, Ausmus just got a double in this inning... we probably could have used that as well.
Yeah he got a double that we could have used YESTERDAY. I just can't believe that he let him hit with the bases loaded...you have to worry about the win. Forget who will catch after that. Our worst hitter including pitchers with the bases loaded to win the game was not the scenario we should have had. I will go no credit to ausmus' double right now.
Well, in defense of Garner (and its a half-hearted defense), here are some stats that may have gone thru Garner's mind (and why he didn't look strictly at just the sole batting averages of the players). Ausmus with the bases loaded (avg/obp/slg) - .429/.500/.571 Lane with the bases loaded (avg/obp/slg) - .154/.125/.231 Lane is the better hitter... but his stats with RISP this year show that he is below Ausmus' level. I'm pretty sure that Garner used that thinking... which you can't totally fault him for.
worst bases loaded and no outs team in major league history. it's a miracle we got one run out of the situation. hell, we had a 3-1 count with no outs and the bases loaded and still did basically nothing. i wish someone kept track of the number of runs teams score per "bases loaded no outs" situation. actually, i don't even wanna see ours.
yeah i thought about that after i typed it. they've got such ridiculously specific stats i can't even believe it sometimes. that's bound to be around somewhere. maybe i could call up Elias and give them some money or something to research it.
