I was just thinking the other day. I hope someone has learned something from Hader and some of these other players and gone back and scrubbed Bregman's social media from the past. He seems like the kind of swinging-dick type personality that would have posted some potentially sexist or offensive stuff during his LSU days or even prior. Probably not even in seriousness but just in jest. Hell, I'm almost positive after game 2 that he gave serious thought to smacking that one reporter's butt as he walked behind her on the field, then thought better of it (and she sort of reacted like she was expecting it too). Would hate for all this good press he has been getting to get tarnished by stupid antics from his youth.
Who are these people who took it "seriously"? I thought it was hilarious and on point and a joke the whole time.
We dare you not to walk Alex Bregman "Bregman was already one of the most patient hitters in the game this year. In the regular season, he swung at only 37 percent of the pitches he saw (eighth lowest in the game), including just 18 percent on pitches outside the strike zone (fourth lowest). In the postseason, though, he's swinging only 25 percent of the time, and at just 9.5 percent of pitches outside the zone. He has become, for two weeks at least, the most effective, most disciplined hitter in the world." Also, interesting sidenote on Altuve: "But Jose Altuve, batting in front of Bregman, has so far seen fewer fastballs this postseason than he did in the regular season. And he has seen fewer pitches in the zone, too -- 41 percent of pitches, a sizable decrease from the 46 percent he saw in the regular season. It's true that Altuve has walked only twice this postseason -- consistent with his regular-season walk rate -- but it's more that Altuve continues to swing, rather than that pitchers are pounding him with strikes."
