those are fair comments, and I agree that "a wall proposal in 2013 is fundamentally different from a wall proposal in 2019." On the other hand I think there's more than a grain of truth to the argument that Democratic opposition right now has an element of opposition-for-opposition's-sake to it.
It strikes me much like the opposition to Obamacare -- the opposition doesn't want to concede the win because the win would help the incumbent president win re-election. They don't have to oppose Trump on everything he wants legislatively, but they do have to on this one issue because of how Trump has set it up as a zero-sum game. So sure, I agree. And I don't feel the least bit bad about it.
and the Republican opposition to the same damn wall in Trump first two years was clearly ... opposition-for-opposition's-sake to it?
lol...trump made conservatives/republicans totally flip-flop on so many of their core beliefs and principles. its hard to take a trumpublican seriously when they try to point out democrat flips regarding the wall. and its even harder to take them seriously when they charge democrats with obstruction for obstructing sake...from day one of obamas presidency the republicans stated position was to be nothing more than obstructionists...they openly admitted it. judge garland might have something to say on that one! anyway, trumps CENTRAL CAMPAIGN PROMISE WAS THAT MEXICO WAS GONG TO PAY FOR THE WALL... now he and his supporters was the american taxpayer to fund it. that overshadows any flip-flops on the democrat side regarding the wall. also, trump had two years with republicans in total control of the government and couldnt get his vanity wall. he rejected $25 billion for his wall not once, but twice. you trumpublicans need to realize that your great dealmaker lord trump blew it...its his fault alone that you dont have your stupid wall. and its your fault for allowing yourselves to be conned and manipulated into thinking that he was going to make mexico pay for it. the sooner yall realize that you are being strung along and played for suckers by a narcissistic con-artist, the sooner we can get this country back on track and really MAGA..
The political landscape has changed over the last 5-6 years and the type of wall is quite different..... those are both very true. It is also true that there is an element of opposition for the sake of opposition... I don't think that can be denied..... likewise there is an element of Trump wanting the Wall at all costs is a political game as well.....
Could Speaker Pelosi, who I call "Nancy" go 3-0 against trump? If Trump declares a national emergency, Pelosi can jam Republicans. Here’s how. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...republicans-heres-how/?utm_term=.fd1576ff7538
I would hope so. A power grab like that is taking power directly from Senators and Reps. They shouldn't be cooperating with an attempt to undermine their own authority.
The national emergency is "fake hustle"-- where Trump just wants to be seen as trying to do something knowing that it is futile.
Hmm... sure seems like they hire(d) a lot of undocumented workers. And these are just the golf courses... imagine how many work for the hotels.
He can't get congress to agree with his obsession. And the "national emergency" won't get him his wall either. So... "Human Wall". His obsession with his vanity wall is now involving the U.S. military forces.
