Any Blondie fans here? I just saw an awesome Blondie/Devo show and then went backstage and hung out with Debbie Harry and a common friend for about half an hour. It was a special night.
I remember Debbie Harry being hot as fuuuuuuu for the longest time. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WGU_4-5RaxU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I'm a Blondie fan. That's cool that you got to meet her and hang out with her. I hadn't listened to any of their stuff in awhile but I should.
Cool that they're still rocking it after all these years. Seems like she would be fun to hang out with.
Funny thing...as long as I've watched Yo Gabba Gabba with my kids, I never knew the picture drawing guy (Mark Mothersbaugh) was the lead singer for Devo. Just found this out about a month ago.
Also prefer brunettes and redheads. Yes. don't know many songs from her other than the most popular ones, but... YES.
how was the show? Was The Church on that lineup too? If so how were they? fun fact: Blondie drummer Clem Burke was the only member of The Ramones who would NOT to take the name Ramone - he lasted less than a year. They thought he was "too Jazzy" for them.

 ^ LOL! First time I see that entire video. I had forgotten about that. Watching Blondie's Rapture video reminds me of my old 5th Ward days... when I used to walk the streets and be so scared because I'd see dudes tagging with graffiti, Native American chiefs and Uncle Sams coming out of bushes, people in phone booths, French cops, redheads in kilts, bulimic girls walking goats, people in baroque clothes, people in fur coats, ballerinas, and black dudes in shades wearing WHITE top hats with tuxedos and canes. I was scared.
No church, only doing the tour down under w/Blondie and Simple Minds. I've seen them many many times and they never fail to deliver a great show. Clem Burke=a drumming god!
Must have been interesting. Was a fan as a kid, and still have a couple of songs come up occasionally in the mix. Love me some Devo, too.

I must be out of step, since I remember Blondie (and Debbie Harry) from back then and I was not much of a fan of the band or of her. She always looked "old" and spaced out. At that time I was much more interested in Stevie Nicks, Nancy Wilson, and Pat Benatar. Yes, I know she was seen as a pioneer of sorts. Just didn't do anything more me...
No, but anytime I hear that song (you know which one I'm talking about) I want to do a line of coke even though I have never done it in my life haha.
Debbie Harry looked very good when Blondie first broke out. She was though early/mid 30s at the time. Just odd you'd find fault in looking "old", then list THOSE other artists. (Even if you do like them for entirely different reasons.) I guess if you're gonna look "mature" then might as well go ALL IN on the mature themes and avoid pop starlet image altogether.
