And this is where players and coaches become far more impactful than Scott Foster or any other official. D'Antoni has had a really bad season IMO. He rode Harden's offensive explosion to a few victories, but otherwise what has he contributed this year? The team looked completely unprepared for the start of the season. The defense has been horrendous even after the return of Bzdelik and benching of Melo. The offense has been reduced to ISO-ball. He hardly ever uses timeouts effectively when the team is struggling. His in-game adjustments are non-existent. And his rotations are questionable to say the least.

Those who voted for Defense, might as well have voted for Coach because it's starts there.

When was the last time a Superstar fouled out in a close game? It’s an unspoken rule

We lost because of defense (defense is 90% of this team's problems), and we don't have good defense because management's hands were tied to getting a star player or minimum players. The owner doesn't believe imo.

Think about it for a moment, we're the #2 offense in the league. If we went from #25 defense to even #12, don't you think it would also have a marginal effect that bumps our offense up with 2 or 3 more transition points?

To be fair to the guys on the floor, we are not a team capable of dealing with missing Shumpert. That was not a luxury upgrade, that was necessary just to bring us to an acceptable level. Their shortest starter would have been our 2nd tallest starter AND we did not have the speed advantage.

But @tinman, the GM said this year's team could beat the '94-'95 Rockets. :D

Do you think they'd go up 20 on them and then blow the lead, lose the game?

Defense is definitely a problem but so is the offense. When the 3ball isn't falling and the refs swallow the whistle on drives this team goes through some pathetic droughts on the offensive end. They only had 11 points for the quarter with a minute left in the 4th. I'd love to see coach implement a couple extra layers to the attack on the offensive end for these specific droughts. Some pick and pops some motion anything but standing there and jacking up contested 3's

Defense is obviously the biggest problem, but last night we just fell apart offensively too.

Oh yea, and Foster absolutely screwed us. Clearly told the other officials to watch Harden closely. Three of those offensive fouls were complete bullshit. That Rondo "foul" was just unbelievable.

Stop closing games with step back 3s and involve the team....

Why did you go away from the high PNR? Like we have Capela and Faried.... but let’s hero ball it instead.

A normal coach would agree with you and attempt to change what's obviously not working.

    But alas...we have Mike D'Antoni....

You do know that two different things can be true at the same time right?

You can spread the blame further than a jar of peanut butter in a hostel. Fixed set of minds, lack of ability to adjust according to situations, lack of talent, lack of money, and obsession with midgets. Adding in a 6 foot guard for a 10 day contract is certainly going to boost us into a higher tier come playoffs.

False promises, Moreyball, DAT and his ridiculous lineups and lack of coaching, toppled with our cheapskate owner are frustrating. We have become worse, not better than the "almost" team from last year. All these blown leads are enough to make me feel that this season might end up being nothing more than the year James took more shots than ever imagined, broke all kinds of records, and we "almost" got through the first round of the playoffs.

Not so fast, tinman. We cleaned defending champion LA's clock in the '86 WC Finals in 5 games behind the Twin Towers. Clinched game 5 in LA when Akeem was tossed for being goaded into taking a swing by Kurt Rambis, the a-hole. Likely told to do it by Riley. Dream's tossed and Ralph makes the Shot as time expires, Rocks winning by 2 and sending one of the league's historically great teams home early.

In that case, the refs couldn't be blamed, in my opinion. Not that time, anyway. The refs seemed more competent back then compared to today, in my opinion. They let the guys play. We still yelled at them, though. I loved that season. We were the future, briefly, and the media loved us. Quite a change from today.

It’s crazy how often he takes an off balanced shot.
