    I agree with this but I think Newt took it up several notches or down several notches he turned the temp up and made it ok for bomb throwing to make a point before then there was a certain amount of civility.

    IMO he started the road to extreme side taking and demonizing the democratic party as a threat in and of itself.

    He also used the media to reach more americans with that message thanks to Fox and Rush.
