The third installation of Bill and Ted was supposed to come out in the early 90's, but funding for it fell through. I don't exactly remember what happened then, but I think a studio picked up the script and it became the masterpiece known as... BIODOME! I'm not going to see this new movie, even though I loved the first one.
Seems like we went from retro fashion to retro jerseys to retro car styles and now we have... retro movies. It's official. They've run out of ideas.
Oh, they've been out of ideas. But they are all like.....Look, it was big once, lets make it big again.
No surprise this "franchise" couldn't be killed: I was a pretty massive fan of Bill & Ted as a kid. I'll be seeing this new one no matter what, but I hope they're able to preserve the indomitable good-natured spirit of the duo (******* that sounds pretentious).
I picked up the two pack of these movies about a year ago. They're still funny. In fact, I'd say that Bogus Journey is funnier.
I read somehwere that like 96% of all films of this decade have been sequels, prequels, or based on a book, comic, or older movies. It's depressing really.
