They used to be on and around Long Point back in the day. What's a great one in/around Austin? I miss that stuff.
I just googled "best korean restaurant houston" and I got long point, long point, gessner, long point. Good to know some things never change.
I like Seoul Garden on Long Point and Blalock. It's an older place that's been there for like 30 years. Cant go wrong there. Also love going to the cafeteria in H-Mart. There a 3 locations in the Houston area, but I like the one on Blalock and Westview the best. There's a tofu / kimchi clay pot soup place there that's "the bomb.com". I hit up that place regularly
My college roommate is about to open a Korean BBQ joint called Yong in the new Finn Hall (once it finally opens). He was the executive chef behind Cottonwood and La Grange. Trust me when I say the chicken wings will be a-maz-ing.
If you want best bang for your buck, go to JIN. It's AYCE with average cuts and freshness. Seoul Garden is a staple but can be pretty pricey ala carte. Their ribs are not worth the price. The portions on the ribs are so small. I'm still looking for a good Korean noodle house. I mostly just hit up the BBQ places. Von's chicken used to be my goto for korean fried chicken but looks like management changed and their wing sizes have gotten smaller. Dak Bap still for the Korean Fried Chicken. Korea Noodle house has Kimchi that's my favorite there. It's not super sour like most and actually has a sweetness to it. I can eat tons of it compared to other kimchi. The rest of their food is just okay and their prices have increased by 2-3 bucks per menu item since they were in the small house so the value is gone.
Spring Branch is growing pretty fast seemingly. I built my house at Long Point and Hollister.. loads of new construction in the area.
talk about a subjective Q.... I'd like to know a couple of best Thai and Vietnamese restaurants out there while you're at it. yeah mostly half a mil and up
Yeah not a cheap area, but better value than the Heights, Rice Military, Midtown. Thai one is easy imo. Starts and ends with Thai Gourmet. For Vietnamese, I go to a place @Harrisment recommended years ago called Pho One (Westheimer & Kirkwood).. usually get the beef spring rolls and pho. For sandwiches, I go to Roostar on Gessner.
another recommendation for Jin's Korean BBQ, cousin told me about it over the summer, have been there at least 1/month since. I'm a big Korean Fried Chicken fan, can't go wrong with Bonchon, although pricey, they have a good lunch special. Lim's Chicken is another suggestion for KFC, used to go there a few times back at my old job.
me and my family's faves seoul garden in longpoint https://www.flowerpiggy.com/ in gessner/longpoint tofu village in bellaire
I'm sure Speedy's is not there anymore, but that was a top notch place off Long Point to hit up after a few beverages and smokes and bulgogi. Souped up go-cart track, and they didn't care if you played bumper cars with them. Sometimes I miss High School.
