Rather Darren Erman coach him up, Turner had his chance and we all know how great that turned out for McLemore. You know what Einstein said about insanity ....
Say what you want about McLemore. He's an improvement over the likes of MCW, Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Knight, and Marquese Chriss. I know it doesn't say much, but this offseason feels a little better than last year.
This remains to be seen. MCW btw, no matter how people make fun of him, has never been thrown out of the league, while Mclemore has. He has just that much of a low bball iq.
Thanks for reminding us to be cautious about McLemore. MCW was a failure even before it started. Everybody and his grandma knew that he couldn't shoot. The dude is a career 25% 3pt and 43% 2pt shooter. His TS% is < 50%. I don't care how high his bball iq is, if he can't shoot, he can't play here. And it's not like he is above average in anything else that could contribute to a team like the Rockets. His signing was just a huge headscratcher.
LOL Ofc I agree with your post, that MCW is a failure and I lauged more than anyone else when Morey signed him. However it remains to be seen if Mclemore can be more useful than even him. I won't be optimistic until I see the proof with my own two eyes.
I think at worst He gives us the same thing as Green with a better shot selection. Can anybody give a realistic review of his weaknesses? Not just that he sucks. It's amazing that the same people who complain that we need more good shooters now complain when we actually get a a shooter.
I hope it translates to the real games! Remember Dwight shot free throws pretty well in practice from all accounts. One thing I noticed is that on the two 3-pointers he missed he jumped in farther on his shot than the other shots. Watch his feet, on the two misses he comes on/over the white line whereas on most all his makes he stays behind it. I hope the Rockets see this and can tell him so he can clean it up to make his shooting motion/follow-thru consistently the same.
Green seems more likely to go buck wild and get you 20 points and 4 straight threes. I think Ben might be more consistent on a regular basis while green seems more hot and cold. Not sure though that’s just the eye test. Not bad for YouR 5/6 in the guard rotation.
