It's the snowball effect. The fans want to see the team get a couple of wins under their belt before the dig into the pockets to go see them. Would you expect any less? I'd be there if I didn't live 3 hours away, so that is why I got the league pass. And some of you are also right. It's like the UT basketball games. All the good seats are owned by the alumni, and they don't show. Everyone makes comments about how quite it is at the UT games, when they have the people who really care about it as far from the court as possible. Why don't they make the expensive seats farther away, not like they watch it anyway. Funniest parts of the game is I see some idiot on his phone, or come barbie doll with her head turned around yapping get drove by a diving player, or loose ball.

I was at the game last night. The crowd was pretty quiet, but the game was a blowout early. Even so, I was laying into the refs for all those phantom calls, especially the charging call against the Rockets (I wonder if the refs have even read the rule book. Technically the majority of the calls should have been blocking calls on the defensive since the defensive player did not have their feet set when the offensive player took off. Realistically they should have been no calls.) And the refs would not call hooking on Cassel (Cassel must think he's Jordan or something.)

My big thought on the low attendance is this town is going to have a real problem supporting a NHL team, especially with their higher ticket prices.

You must be registered to vote in either Houston OR Harris County. If you live in AND ARE REGISTERED TO VOTE in Harris County or Houston, you can vote for the arena.

Yeah playa I'll be at all the games this year. How do you know the game is a sellout?

I think a big reason that there aren't as many fans at the games this year is because a great deal of Houston revenue comes from all the refineries and the refining business. Considering that the refining industry is in decline and has been for a good deal of time (I think around 6 months or so) not as many fans have confidence to spend money on a Rockets game since they might not have a job in the near future. My father was layed off his position in which he worked 15 years, and he only recently got hired again (and believe me, he is a hard working guy).

Give it a chance, I think the Rockets will prove that they are worthy of fans spending money on them, and the attendance will increase.
