Been in & out today (mostly out) so sorry if already posted.

    https://www.click2houston.com/sport...ontroversy-about-team-execs-comments-on-osuna

"You know, Brandon has apologized for inappropriate behavior and I think from my perspective clearly something happened that he regrets," he said. "What we really don't know is the intent behind the comments that he made — the inappropriate comments — and we may never know that because the person who said them and the people who heard them, at least up to this point, have very different perspectives."

Lunhow said Major League Baseball will now interview everyone involved, a move that he welcomes. Beyond that, Lunhow said he wanted to withhold comment until the investigative process would be complete.

"I do want to apologize to everybody involved and to our fans and to our players," Lunhow said. "This is a really special time for our organization, and we really want to be playing the World Series and talking about baseball and celebrating a historic season."

"We want anybody who interacts with our organization to feel comfortable, feel respected, and clearly that was not the case in the celebration after the Yankees victory," he said. "We can do better, we will do better and at this point, we'll wait to see what comes out of the interviews that MLB does."

They say distractions can ruin momentum.... this was an obvious distraction that ruined momentum. The timing of the story and the columnist was a Nats fan?

you wish this had anything to do with the play on the field. That’s about as likely as some dork not washing his jersey because it’s lucky.

You know, also, I seem to recall that we went on a cold streak shortly after he was activated from the suspended list, going 9-4 in the first 13 games (per Wikipedia). I also remember the anger JV, LMJ, Correa, Bregman, etc had, they were clearly not happy. I wonder if this has any affect with our clubhouse culture?

I'm sure it will happen in the offseason. No point in doing it now because it would just keep the story in the headlines.

    Yeah, anything is possible.

Taubman could be a DV offender.

    Wouldn't that be a twist ?

They'll still hate the Astros. The narrative's been set. Further, it'll fan the flames for getting rid of Osuna for nothing.

That said, and no matter how much of a pain in the ass Alyson Footer may be professionally to deal with, his outburst was sufficiently idiotic that it should've cost him his job. Don't pick fights with the media, especially when the media personality in question can wrap herself in a near infinite blanket of sanctimony.

I have no doubt Osuna beat on his baby momma. I also have little doubt said baby momma prefers him employed by MLB, and therefore able to buy her off, than in jail and/or out of MLB. Further, I doubt he'll do it again---he's got gigantic reasons not to. And if he does? Burn him.

If the Taubman considers her tweeting the domestic violence hotline
Osuna wasn't involved at all, if reports are to be believed. People who were calling for his release, will continue doing so, but if the Astros already traded for him, I don't see why they would release him now, unless Lunhow was to get canned over this (highly unlikely). I'm really curious how this will play out, because the Astros still-unretracted statement contains seemingly easily verifiable details that are directly at odds with reports. If the MLB investigation corroborates the reports, what kind of punishment do they hand down for directly lying in a statement? Is there any precedence for something like this? Who all was involved in putting out that statement? How does Crane respond?

People will continue criticizing the Astros if they fire Taubman, and they'll absolutely be justified in doing so because of the absolutely abysmal response to the situation.

How do you know she deleted the tweets for that?

    Why just delete those tweets?

Nobody taunted anybody about DV, the fact that you keep saying that shows you are incredibly biased.

I never used a beyond a shadow of a doubt defense, furthermore I am in no way defending Taubman.

I just don't think this incident is a hanging offense and I don't appreciate posters "filling in the blanks" to make a point.

lets just stick to what is actually being discussed here and stop putting words in my mouth.

Didn't realize it was Footer. She can go find another team to follow for being a part of this distraction.
