I'm super surprised. Like most I am anxious to see what he can do in the majors, but we now have 3 left handed bats (4 if you count Gonzalez) in the outfield. We also lose Marisnik's defense. Pretty hard to sit Kemp since he is doing such a good job turning the lineup over, but Hinch said when Tucker came up it was as an everyday starter. We will see.
Per AAA stats he hits lefties just as well as righties. Slightly lower OBP but higher slugging and OPS.
think it would be more of a favor/respect thing at this point. seems to me like you either need/value a late-inning defensive replacement and what jake brings, or you don't. if you do, there's no reason to ever send him down. if you don't, there's no need for him to be in the organization. this signals to me that his run is probably over, but who knows. send him back to the marlins in that realmuto package
