Dude we unloaded too many runs on the Indians yesterday but the Red Sox did the same with the Yankees last night too. The ALCS will be a bunch of pitchers duels!!

    of all the teams still in the hunt for an invite to the summer classic, the Astros are getting the least amount of national coverage;
they are only the reigning World Series champ

May have started off that way but during the pre and postgame shows of Sox/Yankees game there was a lot of talk of the Astros being the best team in the playoffs and a better team than last year.

The World Series is not the "summer classic". Also, not sure what National coverage you are watching/reading, but the Astros are getting major props. I believe it was ESPN that had them at a 32% chance to win the WS prior to the playoffs starting which was far and away higher than all the other teams.

To be fair, Red Sox/Yankees is THE marquee match up in MLB, not just for this season, but historically as well. Division rivals that both won 100+ games and are bitter historic rivals. Of course they are going to get major run from a national perspective rather than the Astros trouncing a 91 win Indians team.

That being said, I haven't heard one national guy that hasn't said the Astros are AT LEAST a strong possibility to go to the world series and AT MOST probable favorites to win it all.

By the way, the only people that matter on futures, Vegas has this as of 10/9:

ODDS TO WIN 2018 WORLD SERIES (11/15/18)
    Team Odds
    Houston Astros 2/1
    Los Angeles Dodgers 3/1
    Boston Red Sox 3/1
    Milwaukee Brewers 15/4
    New York Yankees 12/1

ODDS TO WIN 2018 AMERICAN LEAGUE PENNANT (11/1/18)
    Team Odds
    Houston Astros 5/6
    Boston Red Sox 7/5
    New York Yankees 6/1

Sure....if you're restricting 'national coverage' to prime time games. Other than the scheduling the Astros have been getting their fair share of national coverage in the media.

It's a foregone conclusion that NY-BOS will get most if not all of the prime time slots. That's been discussed ad nauseam in other threads.

No one is arguing that the Astros haven’t been on in prime time. but they have been getting national media coverage in other parts of the media, so to say they are getting the least amount of national media coverage is inaccurate.

Now if your comment was simply that the Astros are getting the least amount of prime time TV coverage, that would be pretty accurate.

All that being said, the Astros swept a theee game series, dominated in ways few teams have ever dominated, all in early to mid afternoon games. I’ll take that every season.

    i am talking about
    • this season,
      • when the Astros are the reigning World Series champs, and Vegas's odds-on favorite to win it all again.
it is a more interesting story than a NE provincial rivalry, about which folks in Tx, West Coat, SW, Mid-West, SEC regions don't care that much

???, did you read my posts ?
