that’s what I’m afraid of. I think the fact that we couldn’t reach a deal had everything to do with the Rockets not wanting to fully guarantee the money. I suspect it wasn’t about the actual annual salary. And for the front office to hold fast to that point, they have to know something about his medical. I just have to accept that Tari is always gonna be an injury risk. And that means he can’t be relied on to be anything but a role player. This offseason other teams will take note that he’s not healthy; they’ll see it on tape. They’ll look at the track record of injury. No one is gonna overpay Tari on an offer sheet. I’m no longer worried about that. But I do hope he can find a way to be content with the contract he ultimately agrees to. I think his body language has not been the best this yr. I get the sense he’s not happy.

 

How da fook do you “build around” this.

Two words: OFFENSIVE REBOUNDING

Ime has a simpler one-word explanation: PHYSICALITY

 

Denying Tari? He’s been promoted to a starting lineup. I don’t think the Rockets are denying him at all lol.

As far as him staying healthy for us, he obviously has not done that. He’s been hurt several times this year already and even when he’s playing you can tell he’s not really 100%

 

Was referring to the board - specifically people calling for him to be benched.

With healthy I'm just talking about him being healthy since we started him. I'm already disappointed in his early season availability, but he seems to be gathering momentum for once. Being on and off the court for years means the body needs some time to get fully fit, for supporting muscles to gain some stamina. Chronic health issues never just switch off, you kind of have to train the body and nurture it back to health.

So far so good. Udoka said earlier this year that he had a major issue communicating injuries to the team and he would try to play through some things without telling anyone. He was also playing way too hyped up from the tip off. Some of this stuff is a function of being a career 6th man energy type guy. He seems to be settling into a starting role really well.

Great to have his pace and aggression in the starting lineup - as well as being a monstrous defensive duo with Amen. That's really important for us.

What gives? Higher usage? Clogged paint? Not shooting because coaches are telling him to draw in the defense then kick it out to Durant and Co?
