I'm wondering if anyone is having this issue like I am. For whatever reason, my andriod app can't find the ESPN Score Center. I had it installed on my phone but for some reason it's not there anymore. I tried going to the Play Store to redownload but it's not there. The only one that's showing up is the Brazil one. Any help on this would surely be appreciated. Thank you
Don't see it either. You sure they didn't take it down and/or replaced it with just the regular ESPN app?
Well i found this from a while ago http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...scenter-with-a-swanky-new-ui-and-lots-of-ads/ And I have the ESPN ScoreCenter app, but when I go to the play store it shows up as Sports Center. It got renamed
Love the app, but I hate the gif loops they force you to look at in each box score. They're not funny and are usually really poor quality. If there's a way to turn them off, I haven't found it.
This. Switched over from the Scorecenter/ESPN app due to speed issues. No regrets. Much prefer the Yahoo! app. Cleaner and faster.
agreed...to the point where I rarely use the app anymore. i go elsewhere to get quick information on scores.
Never had any gif loops forced on me. Just straight from loading to scheduled games whether it be NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, etc. What phone are you using this on?
I'm on the 5s. Whenever I click on either an in-game score or post-game report, I see the box score, AP story teaser and then the "Top Loop" above the fold.
That's your problem right there. I just clicked on the post-game report for the Clipps/Blazers game and didn't get a gif loop. I have the Galaxy SIII so it may actually be the phone criteria. Sorry I couldn't help.
Thanks, I will try out Yahoo Sports. I also use SportsCenter and one I really like called 365 Sports. 365 uses a cool way of signaling a start and quarter (inning, etc) results with a whistle or other signals. I have these connect to my Sony smartwatch to catch scores and sports news for the Rockets, Texans, and Astros. Once I find one that worksway better than the others I may remove the other apps, but right now each seems to have a strength (sports center seems to be better at news, while 365 is faster with score updates).
My problem with the Scorecenter app is simply that it has ruined any possibility of me watching the Olympics thanks to the mid-day push notifications they have been sending me. Why watch the halfpipe or speed skating when I know what happens before it even is televised?!? Especially when our athletes don't medal! This certainly may be part of a genius plan to sabatoge NBC Sports television ratings, however I do not give the braintrust at ESPN that much credit. If they are going to do the same thing for the World Cup, I guess I will have to turn off my push notifications
I'll go try that out today. Does it also let you know the standings? That's what I like to check out especially right now.
sportcenter app is garbage, i can't even use it half of the time due to it crashing or not loading scores properly. i just dled the yahoo sports app and it seems much smoother
