    think that number is too high, there are 6200 recorded nursing home deaths and just under 90,000 total nursing home residents according to this site: https://www.kff.org/other/state-ind...0&sortModel={"colId":"Location","sort":"asc"}

    that would put the figure at 6%, not 1/6th. Still a huge number, your point is still well taken. And many suspect the number of nursing home deaths in NY is higher because of how NY shifted sick people around before they died: https://apnews.com/212ccd87924b6906053703a00514647f
