There's no doubt that Clyde is intelligent and knows basketball. However, he states the obvious and that grates on everyone's nerves (mine included). Unlike Clyde, Calvin always a new wrinkle in his bull that keep the commentary lively. In basketball, Drexler was known as "Clyde the Glide." In telecasting he is "Clyde the Bromide."
