In all fairness I don't think it is fair to use the UE at the start of his presidency. I think you should you the 1 year after rate since it probably at least that long for a presidents policies to take effect.

    In that case it goes
    IN: 4.2%
    OUT: 9.&%

You need to find a new excuse. Your boy sucks - 43 straight months of unemployment rate above 8.0%. Time to go Harry S Truman and own it. Obama has been a complete failure. Only the bitter enders would dispute that.

Question for all y'all libtards up in here at libtards.net - when does Obama own this economy? It's been 3.5 years. So, when does that happen - 4 years, 10 years, never?

Gweenjeans - why don't you unpack what you mean by "own" and explain how presidentin' controls the economy?

    Then you'll get an answer.

In the libtard mind - such that it is - does being half-black give Obama a pass? Are the libtards afraid of being labeled racists for holding Obama accountable?

The fact is that both dems and republicans are responsible for the mess we are in.

It's Bush's faul, Ryan's fault, every congressman's fault, Obama's fault, Clinton's fault. They all share blame.

And let's be honest here - if you think Romney is going to do much differently you are either lying or you are naive.

Truth is Jobs bill was killed by Republicans, and they have no solution to creating jobs except tax cuts for the rich that don't do anything and spending cuts on the middle class that will deepen the recession.

    They don't care.

texxx, in your mind, how would Romney (GOP, whatever) fix the economy and improve employment while still recovering from the worst recession since the depression? What would/should be done different to make a change to give us all a better life?

for starters, simply having an executive branch who can work with congress will be a significant improvement over Barack Ogolfa.

Interesting theory. I can actually see this working.

Thanks for breaking the norm of this board and actually posting a plan.

    Speaking of Jobs.

Tomorrow marks one year that the republicans have sat on Obama's Jobs bill. And blocked legislation that would have created at least a 2 million new jobs.

Unhappy Anniversary: Republicans Have Blocked The American Jobs Act For One Year

On September 8, 2011 — one year ago tomorrow — President Obama laid out a series of policy proposals known collectively as the American Jobs Act. The plan included stimulus spending in the form of immediate infrastructure investments, tax credits for working Americans and employers to encourage consumer spending and job growth, and efforts to shore up state and local budgets to prevent further layoffs of teachers, firefighters, police officers, and other public safety officials.

The American Jobs Act never became law, however, because Republicans opposed it from the start, blasting it as another form of “failed stimulus” that wouldn’t help the economy. (They ignored the fact that the first “failed stimulus,” the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, wasn’t a failure at all.) One month later, the GOP blocked the bill in the Senate, preventing the creation of more than a million jobs and the added growth that multiple economists predicted would occur if the bill passed:

–Moody’s Analytics estimated the American Jobs Act would create 1.9 million jobs and add two percent to gross domestic product.

–The Economic Policy Institute estimated it would create 2.6 million jobs and protect an addition 1.6 million existing jobs.

–Macroeconomic Advisers predicted it would create 2.1 million jobs and boost GDP by 1.5 percent.

–Goldman Sachs estimated it would add 1.5 percent to GDP.

Obama would have to own the economy much more if Republicans had a plan for it that was any different than what tanked the economy in the first place. If Republicans had a solution for the economy that might work then we'd have a choice to make but the Republican Party has done nothing but fillibuster and obstruct the President as he has tried to create more jobs and then you want to come back and say he sucks when all you've done is plotted and worked against him trying to implement an agenda to create jobs. The Republican Party wants to give tax cuts to the wealthy, destroy the safety nets that exist for the poor, disabled, and elderly, and continue to marginalize the middle class. The Republican Party uses racism, patriotism, and religiosity to get people to vote against their economic interests and this is what is dividing America. The Republican Party endorses a de facto state of class warfare by continuing to promote the idea that the wealthiest among us should continue to pay less in taxes while the poorest among us aren't paying their fair share. Republicans want to continue to double down on what we know doesn't work and it's really time for you fellas to wake the F up and smell the coffee.
