That's what - 44 months in a row of 8.0% or more? If this country has lost its collective mind and re-elects this bum, he might break Joe DiMaggio's record.

It's called the market consensus, I believe most banks/economist were expecting 126,000, definitely below expectations. Bad news for Obama for sure.

And 30 months of continual job grow. We are heading in the right direction. Can it be better? sure.

The American people know which party has their interests in mind. That is why we will choose to re-elect Mr Obama this November. We will not give the presidency back to the party that caused the crises in the first place.

Love American right wingers and their flawed ways of thinking.

"Bush left the country in it's sh!ttiest situation ever and Obama didn't turn it around 180° and there's still high unemployment, oh he failed so badly. And it doesn't matter what Bush did, this is Obama's term and it has been four years."

Yes guys, a goverment can turn a country from complete shambles to glory again in four years, very realistic goals you set for Obama.

    Only in the USA.

I have higher visions for success than you do. Higher aspirations. We owe it to the American people. Our current levels of labor force participation are truly a national disgrace.

    no more excuses from Oblamer

Do those higher expectations involve policies that directly caused, at one point, the worst drop in GDP in 50 years of history?

Lots of empty rhetoric. What would Romney do to rectify the original cause of this recession? No more policy ambiguity from Republicans, please, so that conscientious people can pick their policy prescriptions to threads.

Said it before, your visions are okay, but be more realistic. In four years no one could've pulled of what you guys demanded, but the job growth indicates that the country is on a good way. Obama had to overhaule the system, you can't expect everything to click in such a short amount of time. His first four years were to build a solid, long-term working foundation to bring the USA back on top in the future, the next four years will be important to establish and further improve the system.

Having Romney would set the clock back again and his key agenda would leave middle class in the dirt.

Honest question: what should the UE be, right now? Honestly- I'm curious as to where you think the UE should be? 5%? 6%? 7%? Just curious.

Next month's should be much better, if the ECB stabilizes the situation in Europe.

Someone needs to figure out those fiscal cliffs.

OH WAIT, decreases in government spending are being cited as contributing to a recessionary environment?

    http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-09-04/are-we-already-falling-off-the-fiscal-cliff

Think carefully, Republicans, about what policies you want to advance.

We wouldn't want a Britain, would we?

GWB also faced a recession upon entering office (plus 9/11).

    Average unemployment under GWB: 5.3%

GWB is great president? Why are we comparing Obama to one of the greatest presidents ever?

That was before his friends on Wall Street threw the US economy under the bus.....

It cracks me up when you compare GWB's economic performance, who inherited a balanced budget and a surplus, to Obama's economic performance, who inherited the worst economic crisis this country has seen since the Great Depression.

Gwb inherited a mild recession, and left us in an actual depression, which not only erased the mediocre job growth during his admin, but actively undid some of the hard-fought gains of the 1990's during the Clinton years.

Seriously give us more of this. I enjoy it when you post from the hip.

I missed the Republicans touting this during their convention. Can you please post a link to President Bush's speech as well?
