If anyone is hoping that, when confronted with the awful violence, Trump will see the dangers of playing with his racist rhetoric and change his behavior, forget it, that's not going to happen. He might see he needs to take a little break to let the pain dull, and then he'll be right back at it -- or maybe, playing 4D chess, he'll go back to it right away. I'm not sure which. You've heard this many times before so there isn't much point in saying it again. But, it's not your gun that fends off tyranny. It is your vote. If you find yourself shooting at soldiers, the republic is already lost. Consider the El Paso shooter who says that the elites are conspiring to replace white people with minorities, like all these hispanics invading Texas. With that view, he is in a small minority apparently being oppressed by the tyranny of the majority who have decided that diversity is a hallmark of American identity. But, that's what the Bill of Rights is for, right, to protect the rights of the minority against the tyranny of the majority. So, he exercised his right, bought some guns and "resisted tyranny." That's what it looks like. That's what watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots looks like -- an unelected hot-head with a gun who will fight for his vision of America even though basically nobody agrees with him. You want to preserve our ability to do that.
None of that is even close to the dehumanization and things Trump has done, tweeted, and said. Eric Holder's is the closest. Trump has spoken of invasions, said that the Mexican's coming into this country are murderers and rapists. When the crowd shouted about shooting immigrants, Trump laughed. Trump isn't responsible for the shooter's actions. Trump is responsible for creating a climate where people like that feel justified in doing those kinds of things. Is it a coincidence that white supremacy domestic terrorism has risen since Trump took office? Is it a coincidence that hate crimes against minorities have increased since Trump took office.
I was asking if you thought killing law enforcement officers and the chief of police with guns was the best solution to the problem of corrupt LEOs. So if mental health issues are the cause why are Republicans and Trump in particular dismantling that aspect of health insurance?
That is kind of a tenuous link. He might have shown her the videos because he hated the shooting and the ideals behind it?
Amazing what trump and his people will lie about... Fact check: Trump falsely accuses Sherrod Brown, Dayton mayor of misrepresenting his hospital visit https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/07/politics/fact-check-trump-brown-hospital-visit-dayton/index.html
I guess Wayne laid down the law for Drumpf. Video games, the rap music, the browns and the blacks, Chicago, and mental health are fair game, just not the guns. Got it boss.
I disagree with Trump's handling of the shooting situation. Anyone stupid enough to blame video games is just taking a page from the 1990s moral panic playbook. I remember when Blockbuster was making a big fuss about what it would rent to kids and then they put all those ratings on games that parents promptly ignored. That's how old that lie is. From the age of BLOCKBUSTER. Very old man thing to say. The real cause of the shootings is much more complex. It stems beyond socialism, gun nuttery, and white supremacy. It's far more complicated than video games and violent movies.
