Clearly the market isn’t that high considering he’s still there lol. But Memphis is right to keep the cost high in July.

they are. if they would have gotten a 1st round pick offer at some point, iggy would of been gone a long time ago. they clearly have no use for him

It's for the best. He should just sit out and not play until traded. If he gets to rest until the all-star break, he will hopefully have more in the tank for a playoff run.

You don’t need to be a star to move the needle. Did Van Fleet move it this Finals? Ray Allen in G6 vs SA? Etc.

Don’t fall for ownerships excuses. MLE types can have an impact.

Fair. But also, who is or was out there to move the needle with just the MLE?
Danny Green is someone that MAY have and he cost the Lakers what? $15mil per I think.

EDIT: There are definitely players I would have liked us seen make a run at that got paid less than the full MLE, like a Jeff Green; but who knows where his head was at. And can’t say for sure a player like him makes a big difference.

Van Fleet is on a rookie contract.

Ray Allen was not an MLE type he was a veteran looking to get a ring.

    Bad examples.

Do you think Van Fleet will only get MLE money?

They aren’t bad examples. You can spend $$ on role players to help you win. We have been sitting on $$ to spend going back to last season. We had holes to fill then and still do now. We have $$ to spend and won’t.

    The excuses are BS.

Van Fleet is NOT on a rookie contract

Signed a 2 year, $18M deal last offseason.

Ok, so give me examples of who the Rockets passed up that could have helped? I agree that you don't need stars.....I actually never said we needed stars in the first place. I'm saying that I don't think there was this plethora of players that the Rockets passed up on for the sake of being cheap.

Last year they could’ve gotten Noel or Lopez for the MLE. Did we not clearly have a need for a backup C that didn’t have an AARP card? Could we not have used someone like Lopez period? After striking out on a SF they could’ve paid House and given Harden as much help as possible instead of asking him to be Superman. That would’ve preserved the full MLE for this year too. And there have been numerous players to sign for MLE $$ that we could use, since we still need a real backup C, PF and wings with length.

That doesn’t even consider all of the possibilities if our goal with Knight/Chris was to take on long term salary from someone who could help instead of trying to use every avenue (draft picks included) to avoid paying tax. That’s not “all in”.

Don’t let the ownership hoodwink you into thinking role players couldn’t help the team.
