    I think we have all grown to have some bad expectations for movies made from games but...

    I have zero experience with the games but wife and I watched the first 6 episodes yesterday, really enjoyed it looking forward to finishing the first season today. Walter Goggins is always a lot of fun, regardless of the project.....

    I wish they’d spent more time on what led up to the nuclear war and the immediate aftermath. Maybe I missed it but how far in the future is it? Seemed like generations were born in the vaults but Baby Billy is still alive, is that some kind of radiation mutation?

    overall, it’s decent background tv but it’s not that great. The metal robot voice is dumb.

    They did say in episode 1 that it is 219 years after the bombs dropped. In the alternate universe the bombs drop in 2077. The Ghoul age thing is a game mechanic. Those that were irradiated have long life and some immunity to radiation. Some of them will turn feral and lose their minds. I believe the drugs the Ghoul is using in the series are to keep that from happening.
    If you haven't finished the series stop here:
    The cryo freeze in Vault 31 is also used on the Player Character in Fallout 4. Buds group of people were cryo frozen and kept alive to be thawed out and sent to 33. That is how you have Hank and Betty alive still. Moldaver is still a mystery that I assume will be covered in season 2. [\spoiler]

    The only thing that sucks about this show is I now have to wait 2 years for more of it.

    Whoever was in charge of the "production design" and sets and stuff deserves some awards.

    Just brilliant.

    This show really hits on all cylinders- set design, story structure, dialogue, acting, costuming. The Last of Us was really good. This is even better.

    I never knew anything about either of those video games, and I do need to finish watching "Last of Us"...but Fallout was so, so fantastic.

    Apparently now my gamer buddies want a "Red Dead Redemption" series.

    Yeah, I haven't played The Last of Us and only one version of Fallout. It's just great storytelling.
