Looking forward to it. I just wish the main actor wasn't such a stiff, both acting and mobility wise. Otherwise, I look forward to it.
As far as superhero connection; Alan Michael Ritchson, the lead, was on a recurring character on a DC show: Titans. He had leading man vibes; nice to see he landed a good gig.
Very quietly, we have reached the peak of Dad TV over the past decade: Longmire, Bosch, all 7 Yellowstones, Jack Ryan, Lincoln Lawyer, Reacher (the most ridiculous of the bunch), Tulsa King, Frasier Reboot, etc....
The first 3 episodes are better than the entire first season. It helps they have other actors to carry the main guy with his stiff acting.
You've read the novels! Tom Cruise is a way better actor (anyone who thinks he can't act should see him in Magnolia), but he is badly miscast as Reacher, in my opinion. Reacher, as written by author Lee Child, looks damn near exactly like Ritchson in the Amazon Prime series, except Child makes him a bit bigger. No kidding.
I binged Reacher season 2 and was entertained. I think season 1 was better as it was more of a mystery whereas this one from episode 1 knew who the bad guy was and it was just a matter of getting to the bad guy. A lot of this season felt predictable and could see some of the plot moves well ahead. Overall still liked it as it kept my attention and the action was good.
Agreed. Season 1 was much better. Soldier Reacher isn’t nearly as interesting as wanderer Reacher who stumbles upon some small town mystery. Rickman looks the part and his acting is adequate but goes to show you how good Cruise is when he’s so far off from character but arguably better at the job.
I agree. I hate when we don't have the mystery. Honestly nothing ever felt doubtful. .. . Spoiler At one point I thought maybe they would have a chess match between him and his former associate but even that was off the table. The A.M. villian was so anti-climatic. True. Rocket River
