i know, but a center shooting 35% isn't really a weapon, aside from the fact that there's no reason to expect him to shoot 35% considering his shooting has only regressed

I don't understand why anyone would want to start 2 centers who can't shoot, like it's 1987

Sure, if he can shoot 35% on meaningful volume you win

Loser pays [amount you can choose] to the tip jar? That way @Clutch wins either way and we can contribute a bit (more) to running the site. Also, you can define what you mean by meaningful volume.

This offseason, shooting (free throws and threes) should be the top priority. Ime even said in the presser.

So far, Alpi has responded to the challenges he has been given by the coaching staff. He's improved every year, on offense and defense.

    That's what makes me optimistic.

Ime said he might even go to Turkey to help Alpi improve. Doesn't sound like what you would do if you are thinking about trading someone away.

I'll say 35% with at least 5 attempts per 36? that's mediocre but much better then he's been

The average for centers per 36 minutes is 2 attempts.

Your standards sound a little too high.

Nikola Jokic never reached those numbers which you called mediocre. Neither did Joel Embiid.

Looks like Sengun is already the center attempting the 7th most 3-point attempts for a center per 36.

I would like to see him increase both volume and accuracy, but would consider it very unlikely that he goes from just under 2 to 5 per 36.

I would be willing to take a bet that he gets up to Jokic territory - 35 % and 3+ attempts per 36.

If I lose, I pay [amount you tell me] into the tip jar, if I win, you do the same.

    What do you think?

Nikola Jokic only takes a career average of 3 pointers per game and he is an NBA champion and multiple MVP winner. Taking 5 is not necessary.

You were talking about playing alpi with adams. In that case alpi is the 4, not the 5. Adams gives you zero shooting, so your 4 HAS to be a plus shooter otherwise your spacing is nonexistent, especially since amen is also a complete zero. For your idea to work, alpi would need to be in the dirk area as a shooter

Internally, ain't no way some dork is going to pry Alperen from Udoka. You can see how much he loves him. That's because Ime Udoka is smart. :D

If you want to play him with amen and adams ya, he would have to be elite. There would zero spacing otherwise

While I agree he has to be a better shooter, it’s those players playing with him. He is the guy on the team currently. Amen developing a shot is more important

Sure, I’m completely against him playing any minutes with another center. 2 non shooting 5s is a nightmare on offense
