She's a literal socialist, so honestly if the DNC want to never win another election, having her be the "future" of the party is a great way to accomplish that goal.

Threads dedicated to bringing Cortez down and she only won a primary. Wow. She must be doing something right.

Arab - Israeli relations are incredibly complex, and while many Americans think they know everything about the topic, few really do. I think her honesty is fine (she’s potentially representing Queens... not Middle East Diplomatic relations)... however if she wins and wants to serve on a foreign relations committee, she’ll need to get skilled up, which sounds like she knows she needs to get up to speed if she wins.

They are just trying to troll liberals and sew negative headlines into someone their propaganda machines are telling them is a target they need to neutralize. They are really good at this guys. They’ll use this and weaponize anything that will potential suppress our enthusiasm for poltical figures or the party.

Don’t fall for it. Cortez and others like her coming up are obviously being viewed as a major threat or they wouldn’t be targeting her for suppression campaigns.

LOL by all means, you are free to think that will hold up in a national election. You'll get nearly all of the really stupid vote running on "free stuff", but it won't be enough.

If she was forced to actually spell out her platform with any manner of specificity and honesty about her goals it would all fall apart.

 

FYI .... if Cortez’s agenda was so bad, why is Bernie Sanders’ agenda so popular enough that Trump tried to mimic many of Bernie’s headline campaign promises and court his voters?

Cortez is literally a young carbon copy of Bernie whose policies Trump fans fell for during the campaign.

The funny thing is if they had just shut up about her no one would really talk about her past her upset. The more they mention her the more people see her and hear her.

She's not "very clear" on what she runs on, that's evident in how she only speaks very broadly about what she supports. Also, I've never accused her of being a Stalinist, she's clearly a different type of Socialist....not that it's really any better.

Honestly though, I do want our friends on the left to keep propping her up, there's nothing that will swing the pendulum back harder than the fringe left going full on Socialist.

Yup... she is 28 years old and a socialist. He victory in the primary wasn’t good for the Democratic Party and any future aspirations for the Senate or Governorship would be really bad for the party. She is attractive, young and Hispanic during the time we have Trump as President... she is going to get a lot of media attention.

This is on the GOP, a few other progressives have been winning elections, none of them have the stage she has now. You can thank Tucker Carlson's little segment on her for that. It's funny because the next day some of our far right friends here started parroting the very same things he said about her.

It's like a rap beef. The more you talk about a significantly smaller opponent the more popular they get and now that she has a stage she can go on about free healthcare and legal mar1juana and other similar programs that most of the country actually wants.

 

I don't think she could win a Senate seat given her radical views, I think a spot in the house in a REALLY blue district is about as far as she'll go, but she's going to be used to bash the DNC and be used to raise funds for everyone else.

 

I think you misunderstand, conservatives want her to succeed because they can use her to beat the DNC in close races across the country. Actively embracing outright socialists will push moderates away. The more she's talked about, the worse it is for the DNC.
