It's very depressing to hear that about Alex, a hero to those of us who play trivia regularly at a pub. I wish him all the best, of course, but that's an incredibly difficult thing to beat, even if found early.

They may as well shut Jeopardy down if we lose Alex. I hope we don't.

    Yikes.

Stage 4 pancreatic? I wish him the best and a positive attitude is absolutely needed when dealing with cancer. He is a legendary icon in american pop culture. However, unfortunately he is on borrowed time. Pancreatic cancer is no joke, especially when it has metastasized elsewhere.

I wish him and his family all the best, whatever path the decide to take. As somebody who's having a family member go through stage 4 cancer treatment, my feeling are with him and his family. It isn't anything I wish on my worst enemy.

Absolutely devastating for him, his family, his friends, and his fans. I wish him and everyone he loves all the best in his fight.

Sadly pancreatic cancer is pretty much incurable with low survival rates.

Totally sucks. Had no idea he was 78.

Stage 4 generally gives one about 3-5 months from diagnosis.

My aunt had this 20 years ago. Passed away in 2 months. It’s basically no chance. Sucks.

Hey man, let me just say I wish you and your family member the best of luck. Stage 4 is a devastating diagnosis. I lost a best friend last June, my mom in September and my Dad was diagnosed late stage 2 in November. My thoughts are with you .

That's a damn shame. This kicked Patrick Swayze's ass, and he was younger and far more fit. (Not saying Trebek isn't fit but... Roadhouse)
