Great life.. at least publicly. He seemed like a cool guy, and it carries on through his son Robin. *anyone heard his tax-relief commercial? R.I.P
Ghoulishly enough I would have hoped he outlived the rest of the Seavers. ABC took a lot of bets on family sitcoms with dads who weren't pure actors: Saget, Karras, Eucker/Corso; Thicke seemed to pay off more than the rest. He also gracefully excepted Cameron's ascension more than some TV parents: the mom on Fresh Prince, Ester Rolle and John Amos on Good Times, Valerie Harper on Valerie; even after Kirk went bonkers.
Hockey, hard to go out more Canadian than that. Fun fact: he wrote the theme song for Different Strokes
So sad, grew up watching Growing Pains. Used to love that show. RIP He also wrote the theme to Facts of Life.
Whatever happened to Kirk Cameron... he was pretty much the cool guy on TV at the time. Appears he took a lot of time off, but now is small time back. Looks good for his age. Outside of DiCaprio, it looks like Crissy turned out to have the most active career in TV. Everyone else just sprinkled in here and there.
Rest in peace, Mr. Thicke. Who doesn't love Alan Thicke? He was great in Growing Pains and I even enjoyed his many cameos in How I Met Your Mother. Sucks that he had to go too soon... Cameron went bats*** crazy with the evangelical christain stuff, making the moving "Saving Christmas" which has been ranked as one of the worst movies of all time since it came out.
It seems like he took pretty good care of himself and was a healthy weight always. It's pretty cruel he was struck down by a heart attack. I wonder if he had a condition or a family history? But, in the end, a heart attack can strike down anyone. I assume he played hockey all the time with his son as he loved the sport. It was just his day to go I guess. Pretty unfair if you ask me. #FU2016 RIP
