Clearly. He's hoping Bargnani matures and starts playing hard every game. I think he made the right decision to lock him up. Aldridge has demonstrated a lot more than Bargnani. I'm not sure Bargnani will ever be an all-star while I expect Aldridge to become the top PF in the NBA soon.

 

Arguably the best player in college is waaay different from unarguably the best wing player not named LBG, Kobe, Dwade or maybe Durant. Roy just took his game to a whole new level once he went to the pros. He wasn't like Durant wherein he got accolade after accolade or like Melo who willed his team to a championship. He was just solid, and his draft position reflected that at the time. A lot of draft prospects were saying the same thing he was a solid player, but probably had a limited upside compared to guys like Rudy Gay etc.
