I would like to know how Arbitrator was trolling? This seemed like a very good topic. Surely the usage of "mr" could be forgiven?

Look, I know my trolling, and this was a good topic.

I didn't storm out, Clutch kicked me and I really do not want to warm up this story anymore [IMG]. But I have been here for a looooong time [IMG].

One thing, cut this Nazi and Fuehrer crap, even as a joke, I don't find it funny.

    Det,

I was referring to the Chat encounter with a German Rocket guy who stormed off. And I will continue using "Nazi" as an adjective to refer to a stickler for rules.

Nazi Administrator is common usage in the US, when referring to a system administrator who commands allegiace to their domain of rule. Derivations of that are common. Get use to it, man, us geeks have fondness for that phrase.

In fact, Jovi was here even before me, so he officially deserves the title coolest German on the board [IMG].

The only funny use of the word Nazi I can imagine is Soup Nazi in Seinfeld...and even that is borderline already...but still funny.

Being a Nazi is originally a political affiliation, no? I use it no differently than Republican or Democrat.

    Ouch.

Maybe someone else can explain this to you, I really don't feel like it right now, but it is really not a good idea to call someone that.

    National Socialism

Doctrines and policies of the National Socialist German Workers' party,
which ruled Germany under Adolf Hitler from 1933 until Germany's
defeat (1945) in World War Ii, at which time it was outlawed. Members
were first called Nazis as a derisive abbreviation. National Socialism
appealed to the masses through nationalism-especially by playing on the
humiliation suffered by Germany after its defeat in World War I-and by
a particularly virulent anti-Semitism. It attracted the bankers and
industrialists by its anti-Communism and by its promise to rebuild the
German economy. The party began in 1920 with Goering, Goebbels, and
Himmler among Hitler's followers. Its bible was Hitler's Mein Kampf
(1923), and its official philosopher was Alfred Rosenberg. Among the
principles of the party were the superiority of the Aryan "master race"
led by an infallible Führer (leader); the establishment of a pan-Germanic
"Third Reich," which would last a thousand years; and the annihilation of
Germany's "greatest enemies," the Jews and Communists. After Hitler
took power, the Nazis became the sole legal party. Its policy was
enforced by the Gestapo (secret police), the SS (storm troops), and the
SA (the Führer's elite bodyguard). During World War II, the Germans
imposed their system and dogma on Europe by force. Millions of Jews,
Poles, Russians, and others were interned in Concentration Camps and
later executed. Millions more were used for forced labor. Nazism
represented a barbarity unprecedented in history.

I really don't want to discuss this and I could give you many more equally horrible links. Normally I think this doesn't belong here at all, but I am posting it because I hope it puts an end to people using these words in a thoughtless manner.
