An elite athlete like Delp it’s crazy to think he only had 20 catches. Georgia didn’t use him correctly

Since some of yall like to play the "playerX came from that school so there's no way we should draft playerY from that school" game...

Yes. I've been mocking him with our pick at #59 because I believe he would be sensational for us.

That’s one of the better ones I’ve seen - balance the O and D and also don’t avoid weapons. Price and Delp would both help and provide needed depth. Only thing I would also do is grab a WR.

Woods feels like a Texans pick in reaching for potential, but imagine if that was a dropping WR? Could be very interesting, though I fully expect an OL or DL to be our first pick.

The more I watch the top offensive tackles in the draft, the more I like Blake Miller. I would not be surprised if Blake is the 1st offensive tackle selected in the draft. Blake is absolutely the most technically sound and the most plug in play of all the tackles in the draft. He's an instant plus starter and clean prospect. He's got the best footwork, strong punch, solid core, and plays through the whistle, He can play in any offensive scheme. I would of taken Blake before Will Campbell in last year's draft. He won't be there at 28. The only tackles that the Texans could still have at small chance at 28 would be Lomu and Iheanachor.

Peter Woods at 28 would be incredible. He's easily the best 3 technique in the entire draft. I don't understand why you would say reaching for potential. There's two years worth of Peter Woods dominating offensive lines. He fits the DeMeco Ryans DT role perfectly. Demeco wants guys who are quick, athletic and powerful and puts instant pressure up the middle. That's exactly who Woods is.

I believe there are two approaches. Draft to win in 26' or draft for the long term. I think Casserio wants to win in 26'. If true, then it seems to me that every pick will be used on players that can see the field this season and help significantly this season. Therefore, I don’t anticipate selecting an OL before the 5th round. So no Blake Miller, Emmanuel Pregnon, Kaylon Rutledge, etc.

I believe that our greatest needs to help us win THIS YEAR are DT, LB, TE, CB, another WR (depth) and obviously we're keeping our fingers crossed that CJ is going to bounce back. I could see us with the following picks:

I agree with you addressing the greatest needs in order to strengthen your team. With DT, there are only two prospects that I would consider at 28 and 38 and that's Woods and McDonald. There is a high probability that neither will be there at 28. McDonald has a top 30 visit setup with about 20 teams. Defensive End is real important for the Texans to upgrade. Defensive Ends are rotated routinely to keep them fresh and there's nobody after the starters on the roster. This Draft is loaded with Defensive End prospects that will be there at the end of round 1. The Texans have a lot of meetings with linebackers so it's highly likely the Texans will spend a Day 2 pick or early Day 3 pick on a linebacker.

I like McDonald too but I agree with you that I don't think he'll be available at 28. Woods concerns me. Why didn't he dominate the weak ACC?

I think Christen Miller is our most likely target at 28. Why don't you believe he's worthy of the pick?

I see Christen Miller being more of a late 2nd round early 3rd round pick. The pass rush win rate with Miller is not that great. At 6'4 320 lbs he's more adept at occupying double teams to free up the linebackers. Those type of players usually drop further in the draft below their rankings. Woods is more quick twitch and a better penetrator. Miller has never had more than 1.5 sacks in a season.

Well, I think we need quality depth at DT to win the AFC. Miller is an excellent run-stopper. Who would you draft?
