The Wizards had to have been in on it. The big question is why.

Let me bring some D&D language to the forum, with apologies.

The regular season... is trash (TM).
Seriously, I want a 68 or 70 game season so badly.

    Anyone? Gambling related red flags?

Particularly when this was a blowout -- surely Silver needs to weigh in.

The fact it was BAM to score 83 and not some big time scorer, LOL that’s more impressive to me.

You don’t have to take it seriously, that’s the beauty of it lol. However, the record books will have him as second of all time after Wilt. At least until Reed ultimately breaks both of those and takes the top spot.

How would the Heat intentionally fouling give him all those free throws, though?

The intentional foul to get more offensive possessions is lame, but not a new thing. In fact, from what I remember Philadelphia was doing it in the 4th quarter of Wilt’s 100 point game.

That's part of the reason why smart guys wait. Easier to say NO to the thots when you're in your mid-thirties.

This is why I've said since it happened that Kobe's 81 was more impressive than Wilt's 100. The Lakers' game against the Raptors was actually competitive and his points were not manufactured nearly to the same extent as Wilt and Bam.

What Bam did was impressive, but how he crossed the finish line was an abomination.

You're right about his %, and good for him for one game. But yeah, it is kinda silly for anyone not named Dell or Steph Curry to take more than 20 3's in a game -- the # for some whole teams. For a big to take so many 3's is especially goofy / not serious.

But to be fair to him, he's been shooting them a lot more and has been over 30% for most of his career. His % last night -- now that I look up his numbers -- was actually typical. Weird, but that's the fannnnntastic NBA of the 2020's. *yawn*
