As a lifelong Buckeye I'm not so sure about Hall. He never took over games in college. However, to me he might be worth the risk with our third pick. I think our two seconds should be used on as close to a sure thing that we can get. We need two dudes from the second that will IMMEDIATELY make us better. I don't know if Hall is that dude.

They're both well thought of but I don't really know. I don't want to again waste a pick on an underperforming safety. I'm all for picking one who can immediately start. Otherwise I'd pick another position.
Some reasons why I like him and think he will translate, I’m also okay not having the same opinion as all. Haha, I like Odunze when everyone else had him as an early second/late first! - Terrific initial quickness - Long arms, raw power - Quick hands defeat cut blocks - High motor, clean-up production - Lean build, undersized for schemes - Inconsistent base strength, displaced by blockers - Second for DT’s behind Thomas (UT) this year for pass rush (which is unreal)
Yep! Like them over Nubin as well. From the 4 games I saw with Bullard he wasn’t the tallest for a safety but his IQ and positioning was through the roof. Decent nickel and can blitz or drop into zone! Bishop has really good IQ across all levels of the defense from the one game I saw with him!
I'm just not sold on him for a second round pick. Now if we take a safety and cb with our first two picks, it might be good to take a shot on him with our 3rd. Might we take TWO DT's in our first 3 picks IF management really likes the talent?
Yep - so many unknowns. It would be great to see our position at the end of the first round for any sliders, as well. Would love to go positional need but also rather BPA, if it’s a step up from their range.
I actually prefer Braden Fiske and Dewayne Carter over Hall, Jenkins, and Robinson. Both Fiske and Carter were very disruptive, took over the games at times and were more productive. But Hall, Jenkins, and Robinson have more athletic traits that you think will translate to the NFL. The age old debate of the production of what you see on film, versus what you project a player will do in the NFL based on athletic ability.
Not a good year for Free safeties. Nubin is on top of most people's boards, but he didn't run and perform well at his pro day. That's why he's not a sure thing first rounder. Bullock had a slightly better pro day then Nubin, but teams maybe concerned about him living what some call an alternative lifestyle. Bishop would be my third ranked Free Safety. The rest of the Free safeties are going to be Day 3 picks or guys that are used for depth or special teams.
I like Fiske but he will be 25 when the season starts. He will be 30 by the time his rookie deal is up. He’s a beast but something to consider.
I don't know anything about these players other than a few things I've read. Is Fiske arm length an issue at his position in the NFL?
Mustafa is a really solid player. In the right situation he can be as good as any S prospect in this class. I'm also a big fan of Bishop and Bullard.
- Athletically tested really well, strong - Slightly on the older side - Short arms (31 inches), you’d want at least 33-34 at the next level, loses leverage with blockers / unbalanced - 3 technique - He’s very good IF he wins early, if he doesn’t he doesn’t have much in his tool bag - Inconsistent play to play
Yep! I’d take Cooper or Colson at 42, they’re heads and shoulders above the other LBs and take whoever is left of Bullard/Bishop/Nubin/Hall with that second pick.
