Comparing him to Watson is a bit extreme. I really hate to admit it but for some unknown reason he reminds me of Brock Osweiler.
CJ is still leaps and bounds better than Brock. However, CJ's postseason this year was somehow even worse than Brock in 2016.
Meh. I'm neutral on this. I feel CJ uses God too much to avoid taking true accountability for his actions. Dude you sucked and need to play better. It's not some journey about God and suffering. Just accept what it is and work 200% harder.
If nothing else, this draft class alone requires Nick to make that statement. There isn’t really a better option, unfortunately, but I do think it’d be ok to internally pressure him that he’s on notice. Despite what I said, it might be interesting to take a mid-round flier on a QB. I like Mills as a backup, but teams are struggling to find QBs right now and it could into important capital if we’d consider moving him. It wouldn’t be the worst thing to toss a mid round pick at Nussmeier or Klubnik to add another option to the room to drive some urgency.
Not in the physical sense. Physically CJ is way more talented than Brock. I meant his demeanor somehow reminds me of Brock. Both have that far away stare when things go awry especially during the playoffs. Until he proves otherwise on the field, I don't have confidence that he is the right person to lead this team.
This is going to be "THE" year for CJ, IMO its put up or shut up. I love CJ, but my rose-colored glasses are off and its time I look at this for what it is, he can either show he is worth the price of admission or he shows that maybe we were wrong about the upside potential and that's OK. I am at the point where I think he needs "above average" help around him, manage the game and DONT turn the ball over. Have an above average RB and an O Line that can play in the cold and road grade a D Line and then give CJ 2-3 times per game to air it out. Special team and the D must be elite, play field position and chew the clock on offense...............IMO if CJ cannot "manage" the game in 2026 we will need to find a QB who can
