Its getting a bit out of control, has this ever happened before? I know nearly the entire league and their fan bases hate The Astros and the continued success is making it worst but its getting toxic. We have eliminated teams and wild card teams focused not on what they accomplished or didn't accomplished but on The Astros. I know the Yankees have always been hated but The Astros are making a lot of enemies.
The price of success… but we’re also dealing with two very unprofessional/salty/soft franchises and fan bases that have never won anything (ever). At least when the Red Sox/Yankees were going at it… or the Giants/Dodgers were going at it… these are all historical franchises from historical cities with generations of fans that have seen winners and losers.
Their GM is a clown for trying to gaslight anybody poking fun at the Rangers for celebrating. Like, your official team Twitter account has the video receipts showing how subdued the celebration was. A GM attacking a journalist for semantics is way more unprofessional than Brian's tweet.
To think that not even 10 years ago these dumbass teams didn't even care a little bit about us and now they have some weird obsession with seeing us lose. They talk about class but cheer Altuve getting hit, or Chas... Same with Texas, if it was us losing the division and in the wild card they would be talking trash 24/7 nonstop.... I really hope the team is ready to take it up a notch and cause a meltdown with another WS win....
Chris Young is absolutely correct when he says, "everyone hates Houston". Obviously everyone outside of Houston. If we were some pathetic team floundering in last place none of this nonsense would be happening because nobody would care. That isn't the case as we all know. Stros are doing what ALL of these teams are striving to do and what their fans wish their respective teams were doing. Winning World Series, dominating in the playoffs, winning Division titles despite losing elite players like Springer, Cole, Correa etc. Some of the Houston fans should be doing what the Astros players are doing and that's embracing all the hate. I mean who cares what these losers are spewing at them (The opposing fans and the media). Especially the vitriol coming from Rangers and Mariners fans who have never won ANYTHING!!! I flat out LOVE the Stros being hated. It's obvious there's nothing that will change these people's minds so why fight it. The players sure aren't and in fact they've learned the best way to deal with it is on the field and kicking @$$. So let all the hate continue to flow. Just like AL Davis used to say, "JUST WIN BABY"!!
And if he is, he probably should direct those comments at the writer (Tim Cowlishaw) for the hometown fish wrap (The dallas Morning News) who said EXACTLY THE SAME THING. Of course, when the team you desperately want to emulate lives rent free in your head, it's understandable that somebody as mentally deficient on baseball matters as Young would throw such a pathetic tantrum.
